Arctic Ascent 2026

Arctic Ascent 2026 On 7 June 2026, the team will set off from Oslo, Norway, beginning a ten‑day cycling journey to the Arctic Circle, finishing in Bodø on 16 June 2026.

Three middle‑aged men from Rochdale — Tim Knight, Tim Fairley, and David Kennedy — are taking on an extraordinary challenge in memory of their great friend Simon “Teddy” Taylor, who tragically passed away from a sudden heart attack in 2023.

Day two. Done. In the aftermath of yesterday's mammoth effort, today was shorter but still very tough, a lot(6) of tired legs out there, but the lads smashed it.

Oh wow, what a day. The lads were within 3 miles of the finish, but, a closed road meant a 12 mile diversion over a mountain pass. Yes, really!
121 miles done and 8000 feet of climbing. Tough.
