oslo soup

oslo soup was a micro-granting foodie experience celebrating and supporting creative, new community-based projects in Oslo, Norway from 2016 - 2024 🍲💡🍰

oslo soup is a micro-granting foodie experience celebrating and supporting creative new projects in Oslo. For a suggested donation of 50nok, attendees receive soup, bread, cake and a vote. They get the opportunity to hear from four presentations ranging from art, urban agriculture, social justice, social entrepreneurs, education, technology and more. Each presenter has four minutes to share their idea and answer four questions from the audience. At the event, attendees eat, talk, share resources and vote on the project they think benefits the city the most. At the end of the night, we count the ballots and the winner goes home with all of the money raised to carry out their project. Winners come back to a future oslo soup foodie event to report their project’s progress.

So proud to hear from our final winner of from last year. Plants on People is doing great things and we are so proud to have facilitated an event that provided support. Follow the page and join an embroidery event 🙂 We did - and we loved it!

The oslo soup event this Sunday cancelled 😞

With a heavy heart, we have decided to not proceed with our planned oslo soup event this Sunday. It has been challenging to gather a big enough crowd this time to create the foodie-microfunding event with networking opportunities we are known for.

We are sad to make this decision but are looking back on 16 successful events with over 1200 people attending. We have raised over 105 000 nok over these events.

The past 8 years, we have promoted community-based development through crowdfunding, creativity, collaboration, democracy and sustainability. We are proud to have empowered residents, helped to create jobs, fostered a culture of sustainability and allowed people to establish new relationships and networks.

Thank you for supporting us and fueling ideas one bowl at the time! Take care ❤
