MedHum er Norsk Medisinstudentforenings humanitæraksjon som arrangeres annenhvert år og som støtter prosjekter som fremmer primærhelse og forebyggende arbeid i utviklingsland. MedHum har som målsetninger å forbedre helsen til mennesker i fattige land, og å vekke medisinstudenters og hele Norges engasjement for disse menneskene. MedHum blir i 2022 arrangert for 17. gang, og gjennom alle aksjonene
har studentene klart å samle inn over 24 millioner kroner! I år skal vi samarbeide med UNICEF om prosjektet "Sirkulær bruk av en av verdens største miljøtrusler - plast" i Elfenbenskysten. Prosjektet skal sikre kvinner lønnet arbeid, slik at familiene får økt inntekt og bedre levestandard. I tillegg vil strendene ryddes for plast, og både barn og foreldre får opplæring i grunnleggende hygiene. MedHum (the Norwegian Medical Students' Humanitarian Campaign) is a part of the Norwegian Medical Students Association (NMSA). Our goals are to support projects that work on improving the health of people in developing countries, as well as raising awareness about global health among medical students and the Norwegian population as a whole. During the campaign, all the Norwegian
medical students will raise money for a medical project in a developing country. The campaign have taken place every second year since 1991. The recent campaigns have involved about two thousand medical students and raised about 200 000 Euro. In total, we've raised over 1.850 500 euros! For the 2022 project we are teaming up with UNICEF for the project "Circular use of one of the biggest environmental threats - plastic" in the Ivory Coast. The project seeks to secure paid work for women, giving families increased income and better standard of living. In addition, beaches will be cleared of plastic, and both children and adults will be given training in basic hygiene practices. Overall, the project will both better the survivability of children and create a permanent change in the Ivory Coast.
