🧵 VENDOR SPOTLIGHT - Karin Granå 🧵

I love to make things — I especially enjoy sewing and working with beads. I use quality, colorful fabrics with lots of fun patterns. For the AWC American Christmas Market I have made a variety of products that make great stocking stuffers, hostess/teacher gifts, «pakkekalender» gifts, and presents to put under the Christmas tree.

New this year are padded book sleeves in two sizes to protect your books from bent corners and creased pages when you are on the go. I also have a larger selection of earrings, and I have made stitch markers for knitting/crochet with beads and charms.

At my stand you’ll find lavender sachets, glasses cases, sensory «taggy» blankets (kosekluter) for little ones, jewelry polishing cloths, key fobs, wine glass charms, colorful Christmas tree garlands, beaded bookmarks, themed hand painted tea towels & more.

Casa Rosa Cottage is a creative venture based in Moss.

Julia and Marine will be selling handmade soaps, berry candles, and hand painted wooden utensils in addition to homemade pumpkin spice syrup (made with real pumpkin) and our very popular cookie jars at the AWC American Christmas Market.

The weather outside may be frightful, but books can be so delightful. Why not stock up for the months ahead? Be it page-turning mysteries, captivating novels, feel-good romances, intriguing biographies, or entertainment for the kids, we have something for everyone. And at 20 kroner per book, our prices can’t be beat.

You can also chat with fellow book-lovers while you browse. AWC Oslo is a club of readers. We have an active book group and a library full of English language books. The titles that line our shelves are requested by members and purchased with funds raised by selling used books. Whether a book at our sale was donated or cleared from the shelves to make way for new arrivals, chances are good that we can tell you about it. We are also happy to simply shoot the breeze about books and authors and what we want to read next. (We are bibliophiles after all.)

Start the holiday season off with some fun by treasure hunting for used books at the AWC American Christmas Market. You’re bound to find something you like!

⛄️ VENDOR SPOTLIGHT - Olivia Liseth ⛄️

We are happy to welcome new vendor Olivia Liseth.

I’m Olivia, a newly graduated Illustrator who loves to draw using colored pencils, paint markers, pens and paper collage. I mainly work traditionally, in an attempt to keep handmade elements and the human touch at the core of my practice. I’m passionate about connecting with people through my work, as well as opening up conversations about wellbeing, healing and noticing the beauty in the everyday.

Please stop by my table at the AWC American Christmas Market and ask me anything about my work, shop around for a stocking filler, or just to have a chat! I will mostly be selling smaller items such as handmade keychains, stickers, bookmarks, jewelry and original prints. Any feedback is also very welcome, and feel free to grab a business card if there’s anything you want to commission or talk to me about.

🥧 VENDOR SPOTLIGHT - AWC Bake Sale 🥧

This is not your typical «langpannekake» bake sale. Get ready to enjoy a vast array of American treats made by our members: cookies, snickerdoodles, Rice Krispies treats, small loaves of sweet breads (pumpkin, banana, etc.), brownies, caramel corn, cupcakes, American candy, and more. Maybe there will be some pie?

These treats will taste extra sweet knowing that the proceeds from the bake sale support the AWC Scholarship.

✨ Every two years, the AWC grants a scholarship of up to 100.000 kroner to a permanent resident of Norway for advanced study, research, or professional training in the United States of America in one of the following fields: women’s/children’s/public health, geriatric care, or education for children/youth with special needs.

✨ The purpose of this scholarship is to build professional bridges between Norway and the United States, and recipients are expected to return to Norway to share and put to use the knowledge they have gained in the United States. Earlier recipients include former Norwegian Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland.

🎁 VENDOR SPOTLIGHT - Vanessa Melbye / Seed Twins 🎁

Vanessa & Jennifer are close friends that have both parents in common. Vanessa was transplanted to Norway and is now growing in Oslo while Jennifer is blooming in Boston. Although apart, they still love to make candles and botanical wax sachets (Jenny affectionately calls sachets the “safe girl’s candle”).

In addition to melting and pouring wax at just the right temperature, they also make decoupage plates, coasters and bowls.

Not only that, they have now ventured into the world of eco-friendly gift wrapping paper (because Jenny gives such bad gifts she has to hide them under amazing paper).

Because of the space between them, Vanessa had to bring all her/their supplies from the US, ask Jenny to send even more, and forge off on her own. But don’t worry- they still create together, even if it is over Facetime.
