Somali Peace and Development Award is an award ceremony honored to the voluntary organizations or individuals who have worked with peace, reconciliation and development in Somalia. After the war, Somalia was amongst the most dangerous countries to live in, although there has been war there, there are many who have sacrificed their lives to make a change. Some have lost their lives through the process and some have survived. Somali Peace and Development gives recognition and appreciation to those people who have contributed to rebuild our country through politics, NGO etc. As long as the sun shines, there is hope and there are many people out there who help the youth so they can have the bright future that they deserve. It is an honor to have the opportunity to honor these people. The ceremony takes place in Oslo, Norway at the end every year, the same city as the well known Nobel peace prize. The winner will be awarded an Award and money as a prize for the great job that they have done. Our aim is to continue inspiring others to get more involved on the peace and development in our country.
