Day 1 is done. And it was only the beginning.
This week, FURIM Institute is hosting the BITE International Training in Oslo — bringing together young migrants and refugees aged 16–30 from across Europe for 5 days of non-formal learning, real skills, and hands-on employability guidance.
Here's what happened on Day 1 (19 May):
Session 1 — Welcome, Trust & Initial Assessment (Inserta Andalucía, Spain)
The morning started with a welcome circle, group agreements and expectations mapping. Participants shared their life timelines — marking key moments of learning, work and migration. Mini diagnostic interviews in triads opened up honest conversations and began the process of building each person's individual employability plan.
Session 2 — Personal & Social Skills for Work (Somos Europa)
The afternoon focused on the competences that matter in any workplace: self-confidence, resilience, active listening and intercultural communication. Through competence cards and role-play exercises, participants connected their own strengths to real employer expectations.
Two sessions. One day. Real stories already on the table.
