We have a new home! Excited to share that Operation Smile Norway has moved into Epicenter in Oslo 🤍

As a startup non-profit in Norway, finding the right space to collaborate is a big deal. The Epicenter community is right in the centre of Oslo and part of a wider network across Sweden and Finland. What we love isn’t just the space itself, but the thinking behind it, bringing people together across organisations and industries to explore ideas, test solutions, and learn from each other.

For a small team working across global health equity, this environment opens up conversations, connections, and perspectives we wouldn’t otherwise have. It's somewhere we can gather to collaborate, create and feel part of something bigger.

We’re genuinely grateful to the Epicenter Group for welcoming us in, and looking forward to being part of this community.

If you’re in the area, come by to meet us for a coffee! ☕

Store nyheter: Vi er godkjent av Innsamlingskontroll! 🎉

After a workplace explosion left scars on her face, 21-year-old Gladys faced a long road to recovery while pregnant with her second child. She received immediate care in Antananarivo, Madagascar, and a year later underwent specialized surgery performed by Operation Smile volunteer surgeons.

Junior Jeremias is a cheerful 5-year-old with a wide smile, always greeting everyone with hugs, his favorite hat and boots. Since connecting with Operation Smile in rural Guatemala as a newborn, he has received two surgeries and ongoing comprehensive care. The light scar in his smile reflects his courage and the safe surgery that’s helped him grow with confidence.

Living less than an hour from Guatemala City makes it easier for Junior to access treatment, unlike most families who travel hours. Through , we’re building hope by training providers and strengthening systems so every child can receive care closer to home.

Spring marks new beginnings. This March, we want to celebrate the women making those beginnings possible for others.

Through Operation Smile 's program, women are gaining surgical training, mentorship, and leadership opportunities that are transforming health care from within.

65% of Operation Smile's volunteers are women. Over 700 patients have been treated by all-women surgical teams. And 85–100% of patients felt more confident in women as health care providers after our programs. In Madagascar in 2025, a landmark Women in Medicine event brought together over 100 women across the health sector.

🌸 This week, we're inviting you to celebrate women in medicine. When women step forward, health systems grow stronger. Join us on this journey and partner with us today. Because impact doesn't just happen in one day.

Across the world, there is a critical shortage of healthcare workers and an untapped pool of women ready to lead.

At the same time, women make up 70% of the global health workforce, yet hold only 25% of leadership roles. These are gaps we are working to close.

Through Operation Smile's programme, we are supporting 5,200+ women through training, leadership development, and research opportunities over the next five years.

As we approach , we would like to amplify our commitment of 250,000 NOK to this work as part of our FY26 funding plan, and we are inviting partners to join us.

. When women are equipped with knowledge and opportunity, communities gain healthier futures. Celebrate the power of women, share this post with your network or leave a comment below!

Born with a cleft lip, Reginaldo from northern Guatemala once lived a quiet, isolated life, avoiding social situations and rarely leaving his community. That changed when Operation Smile partnered with the municipality of Las Cruces to connect patients in remote areas to care, and at 21, he finally received surgery.

Through Operation 100, we’re partnering with local health systems and training health professionals to ensure more patients like Reginaldo have access to comprehensive, year-round care closer to home.

Today, Reginaldo smiles with confidence, looking forward to a brighter future—including his upcoming wedding. His scar is more than a mark; it’s proof he’s ready to be seen. ✨
