1. OPEN CALL
Across many cities today, buildings are being demolished at an accelerating pace. For many of us, witnessing demolition has become a recurring experience that carries emotional, mental, cultural, and environmental weight.This open call invites young graduates and students of all fields to reflect on the weight of demolition as an experience through an artistic interpretation. The aim is to capture the weight of demolition – its impact, tensions, meaning, consequences, contradictions, or possibilities.
Entries can be expressed through any artistic methods, techniques, or materials. Possible formats include photography, collage, drawing, models, diagrams, paintings, digital renderings, plans, sections, or other visual experiments. The Submission deadline is Sunday, April 12 at 23:00 UTC+2 and the winner will be announced on Friday, April 17 at 18:00 UTC+2.
2. HOW TO ENTER
You may participate individually or as a team of up to 3 participants. Submit your entry either as a post with the hashtag (your profile must be public) OR via direct message.
3. ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
Entries will be evaluated based on their critical position, the radicality of the approach, the clarity of representation, originality and creativity.
4. JUDGING
The submissions will be reviewed by members of ACAN Norway. The list of jurors is published on the ACAN website.
5. PRIZE
Winner: 1,000 NOK // 2nd and 3rd positions and honourable mentions will be featured in ACAN Norge’s Instagram and website.
