Tom Hardy has taken an unusually minimal approach to social media, following only one account despite having millions of followers himself. That account is a dog rescue organization focused on helping abandoned animals, which aligns with his long-standing support for animal welfare.

In a digital environment built around visibility and connection, this kind of selectivity stands out. Most public figures follow extensively to maintain networks and relevance. Choosing to follow only one account shifts the focus from social engagement to personal values.

What would YOUR one follow be?

Spain has passed a law recognizing pets as true family members 🐾🏠

Since 2022, the country has officially amended its Civil Code to consider dogs, cats, and other pets as "sentient beings" and no longer mere property.

This means that animals are no longer legally treated as objects or material goods, like a piece of furniture or a television.

The effects of the law are already visible in family courts across Spain.

During divorces or separations, judges must now evaluate the animal's well-being, not just who is its legal owner.

Courts take into account factors such as care, emotional stability, and living conditions offered to the pet. In some cases, shared custody has even been granted, with the animal spending alternating periods with both people.

The new law also prevents animals from being seized for debt, allows them to be bequeathed through a will, and prohibits the use of animals as instruments of domestic violence.

With around 200,000 animals abandoned each year in Spain, supporters of the law hope this change will encourage greater responsibility towards pets ❤️

£2.43 million.

That's how much Ricky Gervais just gave away from his Mortality stand-up tour to 22 animal charities around the world.

Four organisations received £150,000 each. Seventeen got £100,000. The rest went to a charity called Nowzad.

The money came from premium platinum-ticket sales. Fans who paid extra for front-row seats knew the difference would go straight to rescued dogs, cats and wildlife.

Across four tours, Gervais has now donated over £5 million this way.

Dogs do not need constant change to feel happy.
Their brains are naturally wired to fully experience the present moment.

Humans, on the other hand, quickly adapt to what they have. This phenomenon is called hedonic adaptation.

The more we chase new experiences, the faster the brain gets used to them - which is why “more” rarely creates a lasting feeling of happiness.

Research also shows that gratitude and presence in the moment increase activity in brain regions associated with dopamine and serotonin, improving mood and emotional stability. Even a simple experience can feel meaningful when attention and awareness are present.

Constant comparison and the endless pursuit of novelty, however, overload the brain’s reward system, making ordinary life begin to feel less interesting.

Simply put:
it’s not that there is something wrong with your life,
it’s how much attention you give to it.
