We host a book club, Poetic Sauna, Coffee & Read, cultural events and conversations — often in collaboration to create space, community and change. Female Minority Voices (FMV) is an NGO that was established in 2021 in Bergen, Norway. The organization was created to raise and amplify female minority voices from around the world, and to put female minorities on the agenda. To do this we have, among
other things, an international book club that centers female minorities, with a large diversity of members. The book club meetings are usually set on the last Monday of the month at Bergen Assembly. In addition to the book club, we do other social activities such as dinners, film screenings, theater, workshops, conversations with authors, etc. We also collaborate with other wonderful people and organizations; and among them is a collaboration with the independent cinema Cinemateket in Bergen, where we show FMV-relevant films. Our activities center and are a safe space for minority women specifically, but are open to everyone regardless of ethnicity, s*x, background, age, s*xuality, faith, identity, etc. (We love uplifting and promoting relevant organizations and people on our platforms, so do watch out for this as well here, in our group, and our socials.)
