Instead of looking at information one piece at a time, the Knowledge Graph helps reveal how everything is connected making complex marine ecosystems easier to explore and understand 🌊

This week, we had the pleasure of presenting Blue Biome at the International Marine Science Communication Conference in Bergen ⛰🚠🐟

Simply being part of the conference was already a fantastic experience! So many inspiring talks, new ideas and passionate people working to strengthen the connection between science and society🌊

During our workshop, we tested the Blue Biome board game 🎲 with four groups of scientists and science-communication experts 🧠 Their feedback, questions and suggestions were incredibly valuable, and we are taking them with us as we continue improving the game and pushing the project forward.

A huge thank you to everyone who played, shared their thoughts and challenged us with new perspectives and, more broadly, to everyone dedicating their work to making marine science more accessible, engaging and meaningful to society.

It was truly a pleasure to be part of this community! 💙💙💙

Blue Biome: From First Idea to Launch 🚀

More than a year ago, we had a simple idea:

👉 Could we create a board game that makes exploring the ocean, marine species and ecoregions genuinely fun?

That idea became Blue Biome. Since then, it has been quite a journey!

What started as an idea for a board game has gradually become something bigger: a game connected to an ocean-literacy platform where every card, species and ecosystem can become a starting point for further exploration.
And we are still only at the beginning 🌊

Blue Biome has been a little quiet lately… but definitely not because we’re on holiday!

Behind the scenes, we are busy preparing for CommOCEAN 2026. 🐠🧩

We are getting ready to bring Blue Biome into a new space for ocean science communication, learning and engagement and to explore how games can help people connect ideas, species, ecosystems and human impacts in a different way.

So, fewer new posts for a little while… but lots happening beneath the surface. 🌊
