INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

What Volunteers Can Do

Veskesalg og innsamling av midler for å hjelpe lokalsamfunnet i Kisoro, Uganda

Har 15 forskjellige motiver som er nummerert i bildene. Om du ønsker en veske så si gjerne hvilket motiv/nr du ønsker. (Se bilde)

For å hjelpe Friends of Peace International i Kisoro, Uganda med å sørge for skolegang, skolemateriell, mat osv. til barn, selger vi håndlagde, afrikanske skuldervesker. Veskene koster 200kr pr. stk. Inntektene går direkte til lokalsamfunnet i Kisoro hvilket vil hjelpe barna og lokalsamfunnet der til en bedre fremtid.

Litt om hjelpearbeidet:

Vi er en gruppe mennesker med tilhørighet i Norge og Uganda som jobber for å hjelpe samfunnet i Kisoro, Uganda, Afrika. For tiden har vi behov for donasjoner til å hjelpe lokalsamfunnet og innbyggerne der.

Kisoro, sørvest i Uganda grenser til 2 andre land Rwanda og Kongo. Det er konflikter landene imellom og flyktninger rømmer ofte til Kisoro. Etter folkemordet i Rwanda 1994 har fortsatt befolkningen utfordringer som HIV og mangel på utdanning, hvilket har etterlat mange foreldreløse barn. Barnearbeid har blitt en konsekvens av dette, hvilket er et av flere problemstillinger organisasjonen Friends of Peace International ønsker å hjelpe til for å forbedre. Ønsket vårt er å få lokalbefolkningen til å jobbe sammen på en bærekraftig måte for å bedre livskvaliteten og ta vare på miljøet i Kisoro. I tillegg til utdanning og skolegang har befolkningen behov for økonomisk hjelp til å starte egne bedrifter og for å komme i gang med skole og jordbruk og vi ønsker også å hjelpe menneskene der i gang med dette.

Volunteer with Friends of Peace International
Friends of Peace International -FPI offers a volunteer experience like no other. As a volunteer, you will be based in the centre and will be around the kids from age one to 6 years. Your duties can be anything from helping in the kitchen, playing with children, to teaching, to reading ,painting, of course, playing football. There is something for everyone at Friends of Peace International and the staff will help you coordinate activities or your own choosing and also advise on how you can best help in your time at Friends of PeaceInternational. Our volunteers can stay anywhere between 4 weeks to 3 months and every single one is valued by both the staff and the children alike.

Dear Reader,

I work directly with the children that you support through your donations and was asked to write a short piece.

In my role the Founder, I grew up with hardships and I believe no children should suffer. These vulnerable boys and girls are suffering through no fault of their own and desperately need our help. Please donate today to our orphans.

As a Macklin, Christina lived in a house that was filthy and dangerous. She wasn't given enough food to eat and was often left to fend for herself. Sometimes she even ate from the rubbish bin. The thing that struck me most about Christina was how dirty her hands were. But Christina was too young to know any better.

At Friends of Peace International -FPI we believe that no child should have to suffer neglect like this. As well as the suffering they have to endure, neglect can cause problems in later life such as self-harm, substance misuse and difficulty in forming relationships.

Your donation can help the most orphans and neglected children and young people to grow up with the love, care and protection they so desperately need.

A $15 donation could buy emergency supplies like food and personal care kits for a street family.

A $30 donation could provide a life changing counseling session and business training at our incubation center for orphans and vulnerable children

I've seen first-hand the damage that living on the streets can cause. Please - help us to change the lives of these children before it's too late.
