In May 2026, we provided Bhagbhairab Primary School in rural Nepal with a new computer and printer to support the school’s educational and administrative needs.

The new equipment will help staff manage the day-to-day school administration more efficiently.

Watch the video below, where headteacher Mrs Bhagwati Ghimire shares her heartfelt thanks and explains how the new equipment will make a real difference to the school.

We distributed warm coats, trousers, and shoes to the young pupils of Ganeshwar Singh Primary School, Nuwakot. The children come from marginalized families, and during these cold months, proper winter clothing makes a real difference to their comfort, health, and ability to attend school.

Their smiles and warmth reminds us that collective support truly goes a long way. Grateful to everyone who made this possible!

With a heavy heart and deep sadness, we share the news of the passing of Mrs. Gopini Wosti, Chairman of Hopeful Home Children’s Home and dear friend for 22 years.

Gopini’s unwavering commitment, dedication, and care for the children of Hopeful Home was truly admirable. Her warm smile, calmness, and kindness spread comfort and security to all the children. She always made sure that the food storage was well stocked and auspicious festivals were celebrated in traditional style. She gave guidance to the children and encouraged them to do well in school and sports.

I always called Gopini Didi, which means ‘older sister’ in Nepali. We met in 2004 when I lived in Hopeful Home for some time. Didi made me feel very welcome and we shared many hot chai teas together. I was speaking basic Nepali, and Didi knew a few English words. With big hand gestures and lots of laughter we somehow understood each other and could talk for hours on end.

We went on numerous shopping expeditions together, mainly on foot, and walked many miles through the city to buy meat, fruit, and grains. Didi bargained hard with each purchase, she always made sure she got the best price for Hopeful Home.

Together we’ve done so many projects, Didi knew exactly what was needed for the children, how to make improvements to their home, and their upbringing. We went on quite a few fun outings too, and fondly remember our picnic at Dakshinkali, our day out at the Aviation Museum in Kathmandu, and our visit to the Garden of Dreams, only to be told on arrival that no children were allowed in the garden. Didi used all her charms and persuaded the manager that the Hopeful Home children would behave really well. It was a memorable day!

Didi will be greatly missed by all who know her. We wish her two sons and daughter all the strength in these difficult times, and we wish the same for all Hopeful Home children.

Didi, thank you for everything, you will live in our hearts, and I truly hope one day we will meet again.

All my love,
Samantha
