History of the International Club Association
The ICA is a non-profit organisation and one of the last International student associations in the Netherlands. It is one of the few organizations with appointment by the Dutch Royal Family. In 1958 the ICA was founded by the WUR and the local Government from Wageningen for foreign students and foreign- and Dutch employees of the University.
The goal was to create a place where foreign people from all nationalities could come together for all sorts of social and cultural activities. The building was opened by the former Queen of Holland, Her Royal Highness, Beatrix van Oranje Nassau. The organisation of the ICA consists of an advisory board and a council. There is also a Bar-, a DJ- and a Party commission
Nowadays, not only foreigners, students and employees of the WUR but also inhabitants (Dutch and foreigners) of Wageningen and surroundings towns are members of the ICA.
