Come meet our new board for the Rotary year 2026/2027 ➡️

I joined Rotaract during my first year in Groningen and have since graduated with both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Over the past five years, I’ve learned a lot about running projects, organizing teams, and keeping things on track when they threaten to derail. Most importantly, Rotaract has introduced me to an incredibly interesting and diverse group of people I might never have met otherwise, and many of them remain close friends despite the distance between us.
Nowadays, you can usually find me hanging out with my annoyingly cute cat or tinkering with my server. When I’m out of the house, I’m probably scaling plastic shapes at the climbing gym or just enjoying everything Groningen has to offer.

From Kyrgyzstan to the Netherlands, where my volunteering journey began with Interact Club of Bishkek. Today, I’m proud to continue that journey as part of the board of Rotaract Club of Groningen.
Can’t wait to get to know you all, connect, and make a real impact together!

I was president for 2 years, and now it’s time to finally pass the reins to Alex (he was president before me, so I’m giving them back to him)🐎.
Since I moved away from Groningen for my Master’s in work psychology, it’s also time to slowly move away from the club that gave me so many amazing moments and where I met a lot of incredible people. It has also taught me a lot about working with people, organizing projects, and leading a team. It may sound weird, but I will truly miss the board meetings and yap-sessions once they are over🥲💔
But I’m not leaving Rotaract entirely; I’ll be observing more from the sidelines and joining its international parts in ERIC. And, whenever in Groningen, I am excited to join whatever the club is up to☀️

I am currently studying biomedical sciences at RUG! For me, Rotaract is about creating positive change, supporting the community, and forming connections with amazing people who care about making an impact :)

Being a marine biologist is definitely a big part of my personality. Apart from that you will either find me in the lab, in a reformer pilates studio or on the tennis court. I really enjoy the han

Hi, I’m Sabrina! I’m currently studying Biomedical Sciences at the RUG. I’m excited be a part Rotaract where I can meet new people, contribute to meaningful projects, and learn from others along the way. I’m looking forward to getting involved and making a positive impact together!

Muziek op gekke plekken🎶
Two years ago, we had the idea that we wanted to help people who cannot afford period products. Now, two years later, we were able to collaborate with Rotary Groningen Centrum to execute the first edition of Muziek op gekke plekken. In one evening, participants listened to four different musical events in historic locations in Groningen. Our member Sigutė was one of them giving a choir workshop. With the event and a lottery we were able to raise 9,400€ that will go into projects providing period products for people in the province of Groningen.

Thank you to Rotary Groningen Centrum for the organisation, all our members that helped out on the day and all the sponsors of prices for our lottery. We are very excited for the second edition!🎶🎊

Another international event is behind us, this time EUCO Opatija. It has been a month since the event but the memories are still alive😍

This EUCO was full of sunshine, sea, amazing people, interesting workshops, intriguing conversation, and cute dogs☀️🌊

Happy International Women's Day! 🌷

We celebrated by making over 80 paper flowers for the third year in a row, bringing joy to female residents and employees at an elderly home. Spreading niceness truly makes us happy!☀️

This year, we were also joined by Tiberiu from , and we're excited for future collaborations.💪🏻

We hope you take a moment to appreciate the incredible women in your life today. A small gesture can make a big difference! ✨️

A week has gone by and the excitement has mostly settled. Therefore, it is time to relive the great times again through the photos!✨️

From the 27.1 until the 29.1 there was a pre-REM in Groningen () and then an amazing REM in Utrecht (). This time we joined the event with a record number of members from our club - there was 6 of us! For many of them this was the first international event, but they said its absolutely not their last.

We are incredibly happy we were able to help with pre-REM organisation and we believe the attendees could feel this positive energy💚

We also want to congratulate the HOC for the amazing organisation. We enjoyed every part of it - the workshops, the social project, city tours, b**r tasting, the gala, and more. We are glad that such a great event took place in the Netherlands, even though we never doubted it will be amazing🤎

We are already looking into how to make time in our schedules for and we hope to see all of you there🌊

Until then, we still have some great project coming and we can't wait to tell you all about them🥰

Yesterday we attended the AAV (general delegates assembly) where we listened to a workshop about Inter-country committees, and got a report on REM Skopje, upcoming REM Utrecht, the budget, and other important things. We also got to again see and have a chat with everyone🥰

In preparation for we also walked around the lovely Utrecht. You should not miss out on this beautiful city! First wave of tickets is out on the 27th of October✨️

Last week we joined the Kei week information market where we talked to many interested new students about our club🤩

We talked about our projects, the socials we organise and the amazing opportunities for a global network with Rotaract. The event was a great success! We talked to over 100 people and got new prospective members✨️
