The "Categories" by Aristotle is divided in 15 chapters. It is the 1st part of his "Organon" aka Organum.
The Organon is the collective title given to Aristotle's six works on logic, which he saw as a fundamental tool ("organon") for all scientific inquiry, not a separate science itself. Written in the 4th century BCE, this collection includes Categories, On Interpretation, Prior Analytics, Posterior Analytics, Topics, and On Sophistical Refutations. These treatises explore concepts from basic terms and propositions to complex syllogisms, the scientific method, dialectical reasoning, and fallacies, forming the foundation of Western formal logic.
