Study association for students of the minor and master Conflict Studies and Human Rights, and all students with an interest in Conflict and Human Rights at Utrecht University. We are students from diverse academic backgrounds that are interested in current world events. Discussing, learning and exploring current conflicts and human rights issues from different points of view. We organize lectures,

field-related trips and a yearly study trip as well as social gathering and insightful topic-related events throughout the year.

What’s next for Conflict Studies?

‘Back to the Future’: Emerging technology and the return of total war

The ongoing wars on Gaza and Ukraine confront conflict analysts with a return to traditional war-making. At the same time, the growing influence of emerging technology in warfare pushes violent conflict away from the classical categories and sites of war and peace. This public lecture navigates the challenges and opportunities that these developments have for knowledge production in conflict studies.

is organised by to show solidarity with and raise the point that lgbtqia+ students remain disproportionately discriminated against in academia. We all stand for a safe environment for everyone.

(Due to logistical circumstances, we have changed the date of the Boat tour to the 14th of October)..
What is the best way to explore the city of Utrecht? Through the canals of course!
You will get to pass by dainty restaurants glistening in the night lights, a bustling night life, all on quiet waters with a drink in your hand.
Next week, Friday evening, on the 14th of October we have organised a boat tour for you. Meeting point will be at Cafe de Postillon at 17.00.

On June 23 CS Ubuntu will hold the last GA of this academic year. It will prove to be an important GA as we will either swear in this years candidate board or decide over the future of the association if the board positions cannot be filled. (If interested mail us at [email protected])
