Summer meals don’t need to be complicated. Seafood keeps things simple.

It’s rich in protein and omega-3s, making it an easy way to support growing kids and bring balance to family meals.

And for children still getting used to seafood, starting simple helps. Mild flavours and familiar meals can make all the difference.

Easy idea: 10-minute salmon wraps
Flake cooked salmon into soft wraps, add cucumber, yoghurt and a squeeze of lemon. Quick, balanced, and family-friendly.

Adding seafood to the menu a couple of times a week can be a simple way to build healthier habits over time.

Easy dinners, happy kids, lighter plates. That’s a summer win worth repeating.

It's World Photography Day, a good day to look closer 📸

Every photo has a story hiding just past the frame. Aquaculture is no different, so we're showing a few more angles: aerial views of the farms, underwater shots of the fish, portraits of the farmers behind it all.

Zoom in, and you're looking straight at our label. Standards covering everything from biodiversity to the people behind the harvest.

There's more to see at asc-aqua.org 🐟

Meet the women shaping the future of aquaculture 🌊💙

“It is the best place to be. Don’t hesitate; take the chance if you get it.”

Elisabeth’s advice to the next generation is simple but powerful:

“Aquaculture needs more women working in the industry because we need a diverse industry to keep it moving forward.”

You can find more about the women in aquaculture in our farm stories section at asc-aqua.org/farmers-stories/ 🌐

🐟 THINK most seafood comes from the wild?

Think again.

👉 Around half of the seafood we eat today comes from farms.

That's why responsible seafood farming matters.

🌍 Aquaculture is one of the fastest-growing food production sectors in the world.

It’s a key part of how we meet global demand for seafood.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 It supports tens of millions of livelihoods worldwide.

From coastal communities to skilled farming operations.

💙 Responsible seafood farming is independently assessed against strict standards, including:

• water quality
• environmental impact
• fish health and welfare
• worker wellbeing

As the global population grows, seafood farming will play an increasingly important role in feeding people - sustainably and responsibly.

❓ When buying seafood, what do you find hardest to understand - labels, origin, or sustainability?

Consider this your sign to be a little nosy about your seafood 👀🐟

Where was it farmed? What standards were followed? What’s behind the label?

Kinda chic to care. Very chic to look for ASC 🙌

The Algarve you know is only half the picture. Beneath the surface, off the coast of Sagres, Finisterra is growing ASC-certified mussels, reviving a seafood tradition while combining it with innovation.

Their farm works to standards covering environmental impact, worker conditions and more, from the native mussels in these Atlantic waters to the people tending to them.

Every part of the process matters. This is the side of the coastline you don't see 🌊

Did you know fish can feel pain, yet their welfare is often overlooked? Here’s why that needs to change.

For too long, fish have been left out of conversations about animal welfare. Research shows they experience stress and discomfort just like other animals.

In our latest podcast episode, Wasseem Emam from Ethical Seafood Research joins us to take a closer look at why fish welfare matters in our food system and how better practices can improve their lives while also supporting the quality of the food on our plates.
