Knowledge for Children

Knowledge for Children Knowledge for Children helpt scholen in Afrika vanuit het principe van Co-Investing! Knowledge for Children runs three programs:
1.

Knowledge for Children (NGO) was founded in 2005 by Mr Maimo Jacob Shiynyuy, a retired inspector of Basic Education, from Cameroon and Arnold Roozenbeek (MSc) from the Netherlands. Our main objective is to improve the quality of education in rural primary schools in Cameroon and Uganda. Textbooks, for example, are near non-existent in these schools and the reading culture is poor, which makes teac

hing and learning very difficult. Book Programs for children
2. Quality of Education Program for teachers
3. Leadership Program for communities

Knowledge for Children believes in the principle of co-investment. We work only with communities that are ready to contribute to the costs of our programs. This model has proven to increase ownership and self-reliance. Through strategic partnerships, we complement our programmes with projects in the areas of construction and renovation of schools, HealthClubs for HIV/Aids prevention and income generation. Since 2005, Knowledge for Children has distributed over 70.000 textbooks
and improved the quality of education for more than 100.000 children divided over 151 schools in Cameroon and Uganda.
