Our dream is becoming reality!
Until May, TRA alumni, members, and friends are coming together to help bring this titanic project to life.
The first step is to completely empty the rooms, removing non-natural materials (polyurethane insulation, rock wool, cement, plasterboard, concrete slabs) — sometimes highly toxic — from the walls, floors, and ceilings. We will strip out the plumbing and electrical systems to finally reveal the timber frame structure and begin restoring the buildings.
By this summer, our students, together with our team, will begin designing the future school project on site while also practicing traditional methods such as daub for floors and walls, lime floors and renders, as well as carpentry work.
One day, here in Westhoffen, a permanent School of Architecture and Crafts will rise !
