Join the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP), the Commonwealth Women in Planning Network (CWIP) and the University of the Built Environment on 30th March 🌍, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, for a global panel discussion exploring how planning systems influence women’s rights, access to land and housing, and participation in decision-making.

This important conversation brings together experienced panellists who will share real-world case studies and practical insights on integrating gender equity into planning practice.

As we conclude a remarkable 61st ISOCARP World Planning Congress in Riyadh, we extend our deepest gratitude to the supporting and endorsing partners whose support was fundamental to the success of this global event.

𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 & 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗪𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟲𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗣 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀

The energy in Riyadh last week was a powerful reminder of why we gather.

Guided by our theme '𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 & 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘘𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦,' ISOCARP’s 61st World Planning Congress moved beyond theory to focus on what actually works on the ground. It was an intensive exploration of how cities are adapting to rapid change, driven by a community committed to tangible results.

Across five dedicated tracks, delegates navigated the complex convergence of climate adaptation, digital innovation, and the governance models reshaping our cities. From the innovation of the Young Planning Professionals workshops to the technical depth of our Masterclass, we saw a clear commitment to finding solutions that scale across different regional contexts.

This was more than just a meeting; it was a demonstration of how we are collectively shaping the future of our built environment. The conversations were relevant, the insights were actionable, and the energy was undeniable.

Over the past four days, we explored the theme "𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 & 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘘𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦," moving beyond theoretical discourse to examine tangible pathways for urban resilience and quality of life.

In celebration of six decades of global planning excellence, we extend our sincere gratitude to our hosts, Riyadh Region Municipality, for welcoming the global planning community, and to the partners who made this exchange possible.
