Over the past months, women across Den Haag have shared their experiences of running in the city. We’ve gathered these insights through surveys, Run & Reflect sessions, safety check-ins and conversations.

Now, before we finalise our findings and share our report with the municipality, we want to bring the conversation back to the people who know and experience Den Haag.

What do you recognise? What’s missing? And what should we pay more attention to?

🏃‍♀️ Public space isn’t always experienced in the same way.
Help us shine a light on the experiences that too often go unseen.

Join us on Wednesday, 10 September for a Run & Reflect in Utrecht Noordwest.

Together, we’ll explore the neighbourhood on a 5K community run and reflect on how we experience public space. By sharing our perspectives, we’ll help the Municipality of Utrecht better understand what makes people feel comfortable, confident and welcome while running.

Whether you’re an experienced runner or just getting started, your perspective matters.

📅 Wednesday, 10 September
🕕 6:00 - 8:00 PM
📍 Wijkbureau De Speler, Utrecht
🏃 5 km

While this session centres the experiences of women and girls, everyone is welcome to join the conversation.

This Sunday, we’re teaming up with Women’s Running Community • The Hague for a Run & Reflect in Madestein.

We’ll get together at Het restaurant van Pluk and will head out for a relaxed 5 km run with a few reflection stops along the way to talk about how our surroundings shape our running experience. What makes a place feel safe, welcoming and comfortable? What could be improved?
Afterwards we’re welcome for a coffee or tea while we discuss our experiences and put them om the map 📍

Our work centres women’s experiences of running in public space, while welcoming everyone who wants to contribute to the conversation. Whether you’re a regular runner, new to group runs, or joining as an ally, we’d love to have you there.

📅 Sunday 26 July
🕙 10:00–12:00
📍 Het Restaurant van Pluk, Den Haag
🏃‍♀️ ±5 km

Bring a friend, lace up your running shoes, and join us for a morning of running, reflection and community.

Our Liberation Trail Stage 2 teammate Mel reminds us what is so refreshing about trail running. The first question is: How was the trail? What did you see? How did it feel? Not how fast did you run.

On the Liberation Trail, that was the whole point. Less performance, more presence. More connection to nature, the people around you, and the reasons you’re running in the first place, whatever they may be.

Funding Friday 💥

Run Her Way is coming to Maastricht.

We’re excited to share that a new Run Her Way project has been funded with support from Maastricht Vitale Stad and the Elisabeth Strouven Fonds.

We’re looking forward to working with the local community to support more women and girls to start, continue and enjoy running outdoors, with confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging.

More to come soon.

Thank you to Maastricht Vitale Stad and Elisabeth Strouven Fonds for helping make this possible.

And to Adrienn Adrienn Molnár, our local champion in Maastricht, for bringing this project to life.

Follow us for updates.

RUN HER WAY x LIBERATION TRAIL 2026
Reflections on the Trail — Sybila, founder of BXL Girls Run Club

Sybila loves running in nature. Living in Brussels, she prefers to run in parks or on trails.

But she also knows the limits: before work, after work, in the dark, with few people around, those spaces can feel different.

That’s why the night stage felt so memorable.

It gave her access to a version of running most would not usually choose alone — dark, intense, a little unsettling at times, but also empowering and reassuring when shared with a community you trust.
