Senator Osita Ngwu Celebrates Cultural Heritage at 2026 Igwanshi Amankwo Eke Festival.

Udi, Enugu State – Senator Osita Ngwu has described his participation in the 2026 Igwanshi Amankwo Eke Festival in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State as a great honour, highlighting the event's significance in preserving the cultural identity and unity of the people.

The colourful festival attracted community leaders, traditional rulers, distinguished guests, and residents from across the region, all gathered to celebrate the rich customs and traditions that have been passed down through generations.

Chief Warrant Officer 5 (CW5) Kennie Kelly, a highly decorated U.S. Army Master Aviator, was involuntarily separated from the Army in September 2022 after refusing the military's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. He was one of more than 8,000 service members discharged over the policy.

Following President Donald Trump's Executive Order 14184, signed on January 20, 2025, Kelly worked with the Army's reinstatement program and was officially returned to service in February 2026.

His reinstatement included:

Full back pay for lost wages and allowances

Restoration of all benefits, healthcare, and retirement credits

Removal of mandate-related disciplinary actions from his record

Credit for time away from service as if he had never left
The opportunity to choose his duty station

Kelly described returning to uniform as "coming home" and said the experience strengthened his commitment to serving the nation.

The post presents his reinstatement as a correction of an injustice and notes that the Army is reviewing hundreds of similar cases, with approximately 900 additional former service members potentially eligible for reinstatement. It also highlights that Kelly now serves alongside his three sons, who are members of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
