Get inspired 🎭 with MVIdee

This month’s inspiration comes from Dorothy Parker.

Curiosity is much more than a desire to learn something new. It helps us question assumptions, explore different perspectives and stay open to people whose experiences may differ from our own.

In a world filled with information, rapid change and diverse voices, curiosity can be a powerful tool for understanding. It encourages dialogue instead of judgment and learning instead of fear.

Many of the initiatives we support — from youth participation and inclusion to media literacy and intercultural exchange — begin with a simple question: What can we learn from one another?

Perhaps curiosity is not something that needs curing after all. Perhaps it is something worth nurturing.

What has sparked your curiosity recently?

Misschien moeten we haar juist blijven voeden.

Wat heeft jouw nieuwsgierigheid onlangs geprikkeld?

Every day, we are exposed to thousands of pieces of information online. Some inform, some connect and some divide.

Disinformation, propaganda, emotional manipulation and AI-generated content are becoming increasingly difficult to recognise. This is especially challenging for young people, who are growing up in an information environment where truth and fiction often compete for attention.

At UNITY, we believe that preventing hate speech starts long before hateful words appear. It begins with critical thinking, media literacy, empathy and the ability to question what we see online.

Building more inclusive communities means helping young people navigate complex information, recognise manipulation and engage in respectful dialogue across differences.

Because resilience to hate is not only about what we say — it is also about how we think.

Today we participated in the very first GENLINK Civic Café: Navigating the Noise — and it was a truly insightful experience.

A huge thank you to the organisers, the speaker, and everyone who joined the session and contributed to such an engaging discussion around misinformation, AI-generated content, scams, phishing and digital safety.

One of the most interesting activities was trying to guess whether videos were AI-generated or real — which turned out to be much more difficult than expected 👀
We also tested our phishing detection skills… and discovered that scammers are unfortunately getting more creative every day.

Beyond the activities, the webinar opened important conversations about how we navigate online spaces, verify information and stay critical in a digital world shaped by algorithms and AI-generated content.

We are especially happy to see young people leading discussions like this and creating space for peer learning, participation and open dialogue.

Thank you again to the GENLINK team for this thoughtful and interactive session.

What happens when imagination is treated not as a luxury, but as a practical skill for building the future?

In the 1990s, two graphic designers in Zurich looked at used truck tarpaulins, old seatbelts and bicycle tubes and saw something others overlooked: potential.

That idea became FREITAG — a company built on sustainability, storytelling and regenerative design.

But what makes this story relevant today is not only the product itself.

It is the ability to combine creativity with long-term thinking. To connect design, entrepreneurship and sustainability. To transform imagination into practical innovation and economic resilience.

This is one of the ideas behind IMAGINARI.

The project explores how artists, entrepreneurs and cultural professionals can build more sustainable and value-aligned futures by combining creativity, wellbeing and regenerative business thinking.

Because innovation does not always begin with new technologies. Sometimes it begins with new ways of seeing what already exists.

A lot of young people are tired of hearing “you are the future” while feeling ignored in the present.

Climate anxiety, rising costs, burnout, social pressure and decisions about the future being made without young people — for many, this has become normal.

Earlier this year, the European Commission presented its first Strategy on Intergenerational Fairness, calling for stronger youth participation in decisions connected to climate, sustainability, and social issues.

This is exactly why EcoSocial Voices exists.

Through civic monitoring, ecosocial dialogue and participation, the project aims to support young people — especially those with fewer opportunities — in becoming more active and influential voices within their communities.

Precies daarom bestaat EcoSocial Voices.

Months after our Art of Unity journey in Kobuleti, Georgia, the experience still stays with us.

More than the workshops and activities, we remember the connections built between people from different countries and cultures. Through conversations, creativity, music and shared experiences, strangers slowly became a community.

Together with ARCUS (Italy), Creative Youth (Armenia), Patras (Greece), and Wisdom Tutoring Factory (Georgia), we explored how creativity and intercultural dialogue can bring people closer and inspire new perspectives.

Art of Unity reminded us that Erasmus+ is an opportunity to learn, grow and build meaningful international connections.

Thank you to every participant, facilitator, organiser, partner organisation, and to Georgia for the warmth and unforgettable memories.
