The Netherlands India (NIA) dates back to 1951. During the past half century its history, character and composition have changed considerably. The association was created by a group of Dutch inidividuals, mostly academics, interested in the rich and diverse historical, cultural, social, religious, philosophical and spiritual aspects of India.

With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved former president and longstanding active member and wholehearted supporter of NIA, Mrs Marianne Oort. Mrs Oort has passed away on 26 February. This sad news reached the Board and the Board wishes to convey this to all the members of NIA who knew her well and all who cherish her memory.
We convey our deepest condolences to her family and the wide circle of her numerous friends.

May her soul rest in peace.

The Netherlands-India Association (NIA) graciously invites you and your family to the Indian Independence Day celebration on Friday, August 15th, 2025, in Beinsdorp, featuring cultural performances, heart-touching patriotic songs, and delicious Indian dinner. The event will take place from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Programme:
6:00 – 7:00 PM – Meet & Greet with a Welcome Drink
7:00 – 8:30 PM – Cultural Programme (including speeches from VIPs)
8:30 – 10:00 PM – Dinner
