The Diplomatic Council has established a forum in particular for the small and medium-sized industry. The forum’s target groups are small and medium-sized companies with international business. Ralf Schulten, attorney-at-law, has been appointed Chairman of this Global SME Forum. Within the Diplomatic Council Ralf Schulten will take over responsibility for all activities related to the SME industry
. In this respect he will closely collaborate with other chairs heading further DC forums such as logistics, information technology or healthcare. The aim is to involve small and medium-sized companies all over the world in the activities of globalisation.
“Within the Global SME Forum we especially address topics that are of interest to the SME companies with international ambitions” says the Chairman of the Forum. The scope ranges from startups through emerging SME companies and family businesses to not publicly listed but worldwide operating enterprises.
“We have deliberately chosen Ralf Schulten, a German entrepreneur, as the Chairman of the Global SME Forum because the German SME is regarded as a leading example in many countries and proves that even smaller firms can gain international success” says DC Secretary General Hang Nguyen. Attorney-at-law Ralf Schulten is partner of the BMT Büsing Müffelmann Theye law firm. Over the last years BMT has been taking care of the needs of SME companies, in particular with regards to the international issues. Ralf has studied law in Barcelona and Saarbrücken and has passed the first and second state examination in law and further holds a Master in European law. His professional focuses are contractual law, company law, mergers & acquisitions, information technology, internet and outsourcing. He has gained a reputation as an author and keynote speaker in expert groups. He has two children and speaks English, Spanish, Catalan and French.
