Fairspace FAIRSPACE: we’re changing the way people experience public space in the Netherlands.

28/08/2026

Last week, Fairspace joined the incoming students at Eurekaweek to raise awareness around harassment prevention, safety, and inclusion.

Through interactive tools like our 5Ds scenario dice game, educational booklets, and our “Everyone Fits in This Frame” campaign, we shared practical ways to build safer, more inclusive environments for everyone.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand, picked up a resource, or snapped a photo. Everyone deserves to feel safe and included in their community

We joined Eurekaweek 2026!

Together with thousands of new students in Rotterdam, we opened up conversations about safety in public spaces and what it takes to make everyone feel more comfortable and welcome in the city.

At Fairspace, we believe safer public spaces start with awareness, conversation and action.
Welcome to Rotterdam, new students. Let’s make it a safer city for everyone.

Most people want to help. So why do we sometimes do nothing?

Founder Laura explains why people freeze when witnessing harassment. Have you ever
experienced this?

The final score isn’t the only statistic that matters. ⚽️

“Safety does not happen by chance. It is built when people choose to look out for one another
and take action when something is not right.”

Creating safer spaces means showing up wherever community happens. In 2025, we teamed
up with local nightlife venues, sports clubs, schools, and workplaces to turn awareness into action.

A huge thank you to every organization that opened its doors to build a culture of care this past

We were shocked by this week’s news.
But we were also reminded of how much work there is still to do when it comes to understanding consent and trauma.
Not everyone fights back. Not everyone screams, many people freeze during experiences of sexual violence. These reactions are not signs of consent; they are survival responses.
If we want safer workplaces, schools, and public spaces, we need to stop asking why someone didn’t resist and start understanding why so many people don’t feel able to.
The more we understand trauma, the better we can move away from victim blaming and towards creating safer environments for everyone.

Reflecting on an incredible year of impact!

10,457 trained people, but what does that actually change?

It means more people noticing sexual harassment. More bystanders stepping in. More professionals knowing exactly how to respond.

Our annual report shows how those numbers translate into real-world impact. These are not just statistics, but behavior change.
In 2025, we took huge strides toward our mission, but we didn’t do it alone, we did it with you.
From classrooms to workplaces and public spaces, our community showed up to learn, challenge harmful behavior, and build safer environments for everyone.

“Wan switi manspasi dey.” ❤️💚

Today we commemorate Keti Koti. A day to remember the past, celebrate freedom, and reflect
on the work that still lies ahead.
Racism and discrimination didn’t end with the abolition of slavery. Together, we can create
change.
That’s why Fairspace offers a free Together Against Racism course, helping organisations
recognise discrimination and take action.
Let’s keep learning, speaking up, and building spaces where everyone belongs.

This week, during Stop Blaming Her Action Week, we stand against victim blaming and the culture that keeps it alive.

Don’t look away. Act up. Support. Intervene. Be the bystander who makes a difference.
