The June issue of the Official ABBA Fan Club magazine has just been published. This edition features reports on the Fan Club’s 40th Anniversary in Stockholm and Björn’s visit to Oslo for the opening night of Pippi. It also includes flashbacks to the gala performance of Dancing Queen and 40 years of Chess. In addition, there is the second part of the ABBA Guide to Stockholm, a story about Dum Dum Di**le, a colourful poster, and a chance to win an autographed fan club magazine in our competition.

Dancing Queen’ 50th Anniversary Treatment

This year marks the 50th anniversary since ABBA released their biggest hit to date - ‘Dancing Queen’. The song took ABBA across the Atlantic, gave them their first number one on the US chart, has gained over 2B streams on Spotify and became the groups first music video to reach 1B views on YouTube last year. Standing the test of time, the song has become a classic hit for both old and new fans of ABBA, with its infectious piano choruses matched with that iconic vocal harmonization of Agnetha and Frida.

To celebrate this years anniversary, ‘Dancing Queen’ will be re-released across two vinyl variants on August 14th. The limited edition sparkly vinyl and the classic black vinyl, with ‘La Reina Del Baile’ as a B-side. Remastered for the release at Abbey Road Studios, both physical anniversary editions will be available for pre order on June 10th.

When asked about the song in previous interviews, Frida recalls: “I thought it was so enormously beautiful that I started to cry” whilst Agnetha said: “We knew immediately it was going to be massive”.

Benny and Anni-Frid appeared at ABBA Arena yesterday (3 June) at a special performance of ABBA Voyage in front of 2,500 children, to launch a new program aimed to help young children pursue careers in music and the creative industries. The audience serenaded the pair with Thank You For The Music. After the show a few lucky students got to ask Benny and Anni-Frid questions in the Oceanbird Lounge.

Björn Ulvaeus’ Pippi på Sirkus opens to acclaim in Oslo

Pippi på Sirkus, with music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, premiered at Det Norske Teatret to a warm and enthusiastic reception.

Early reviews describe the production as a vibrant theatrical celebration, blending music, acrobatics, and stage energy in a way that resonates with both children and adults. According to Aftenposten, the show delivers “a sparkling theatre fest” and a “magnificent mix of musical and contemporary circus”, praised for its sense of joy and visual spectacle.
