The second semester of the is in full swing. From different schools in Graz, classes come to .floesserei to learn about rivers from different perspectives. How deep is the Mur River, which animals live in and around her and which color does the river have?

This project is a collaboration between the River Collective, die Flößerei, Pädagogische Hochschule Steiermark, the University of Innsbruck and Magnetberg and a chance to create learning materials that spark the interest of children in river-related careers.

Join the webinar this Thursday to dive deeper with these fellows. Since their meetup in snowy February, they collaborated online and can now tell you why the Kaunertal Hydropower Extension is not in the interest of people in Europe.

Be there, get informed, ask all the questions you may have, and help us spread the story so that TIWAG cannot fool people saying Europe ‘needs’ this project for its energy transition.

🇬🇧 We are fundraising for the Students for Rivers Camp 2026 in Samaná!
Two-thirds of the world’s rivers have already been dammed. The Samaná River is the last free-flowing river in Antioquia and today, it faces new dam threats.
This is why the Students for Rivers Camp 2026 was created: a 12-day expedition bringing together 14 students (local and international) to become the next generation of river defenders, working on multidisciplinary projects across science, legal action, and communications.
This is a critical moment to protect the Samaná and we need your support to make it possible.

🎯 Goal: $15,000 USD

If we reach our goal, this camp will become a reality thanks to you. Plus, donations of $20 USD or more enter you into a raffle to win an expedition to explore the Samaná River (more info coming soon!)

Dos tercios de los ríos del mundo ya han sido represados. El río Samaná es el último río de flujo libre en Antioquia y hoy enfrenta varias amenazas nuevas de represas.
Por eso nace el Students for Rivers Camp 2026: una expedición de 12 días que reunirá a 14 estudiantes (locales e internacionales) para formarse como la próxima generación de defensores de los ríos, trabajando en proyectos multidisciplinarios desde la ciencia, lo legal, social y comunicación.
Este es un momento clave para proteger el Samaná. Y necesitamos tu apoyo para hacerlo posible.

Two more weeks to apply for the SRC Colombia! We extended the deadline and are looking for motivated law, communication and science students (or any discipline, as we believe a diverse group helps!).

Apply by April 15th and write a declaration to protect the Samaná long-term, or discover new species and register them on the IUCN red list, and put the rover on a global stage.

We encourage you to apply also if you cannot cover the (full) participation fee. We are raising funds to provide as many scholarships as possible.

¡Quedan dos semanas para postularse al SRC Colombia! Hemos extendido el plazo y buscamos estudiantes motivados de derecho, comunicación y ciencias (¡o de cualquier disciplina, ya que creemos que la diversidad es fundamental!).

Postúlate antes del 15 de abril y escribe una declaración para proteger el Samaná a largo plazo, o descubre nuevas especies y regístralas en la Lista Roja de la IUCN, y da visibilidad al rover a nivel mundial.

Te animamos a postularte incluso si no puedes cubrir la cuota de participación (completa). Estamos recaudando fondos para ofrecer la mayor cantidad de becas posible.

El próximo Campamento de Estudiantes del River Collective llega al Río Samaná. Invitamos a estudiantes de pregrado, maestría y doctorado interesados en la protección del río Samaná a participar en un programa de dos semanas, que incluye un viaje de 8 días por el río. Está abierto a todas las áreas del conocimiento: desde arte hasta biología, y desde antropología hasta cinematografía.
The upcoming River Collective Students Camp is coming to the Samaná River! We invite undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students interested in protecting the Samaná River to participate in a two-week program, which includes an 8-day river journey. It is open to all fields of knowledge: from art to biology, and from anthropology to filmmaking.

🇬🇧While the applications for the Tagliamento SRC have just opened, we are excited to announce a second SRC in 2026, this time on the Samaná River in Colombia! After a packed two-week program on the Marañón last year, several participants have put their heads together to gather university students, scientists, artists and activists on the Samaná in September, to turn knowledge into action for the protection of the last free-flowing river of Antioquia!

🇨🇴Mientras que las postulaciones para el SRC del Tagliamento acaban de abrirse, nos emociona anunciar un segundo SRC en 2026, esta vez en el río Samaná en Colombia. Después de los dos semanas en el Marañón el año pasado, varios participantes unieron fuerzas para reunir a estudiantes universitarios, científicos, artistas y activistas en el Samaná en septiembre, con el fin de transformar el conocimiento en acción para la protección del último río libre de Antioquia.
