For many years now, we have been working with people who find themselves in periods of transition - moments of uncertainty, identity shifts, endings, and new beginnings. Moments when the old story no longer fits, and the new one has not yet fully formed.
We have witnessed how challenging - and at the same time how transformative - these thresholds can be.
Storytelling has become one of our most powerful tools in supporting people through such passages. And among all narrative frameworks, the Hero’s Journey stands out as an incredibly efficient and elegant model for understanding change and growth. It offers structure without limiting freedom. It gives language to chaos.
Storytelling bypasses resistance. It gently moves beyond overthinking and invites creative intelligence and intuition to take the lead. Through archetypes, symbols, and metaphors, people reconnect with deep inner knowledge that often remains unprocessed or unnamed.
And perhaps most importantly - it brings magic into the process.
Working with superpowers, magical objects, shadows, allies, hidden enemies, and inner dragons is far more engaging than analysing life problems once again from the same mental loops. It allows participants to externalize inner conflicts, to see their challenges differently, and to reclaim agency in a playful yet profound way.
Together with from .foundation and from .collective.nijmegen , we developed a 5-session online course designed specifically for educators and youth workers who support young people in transition.
In December, we completed the first edition with 25 educators from different countries. It was exciting and we decided to offer a second edition that just started.
In the coming days, we will share insights, reflections, and key learnings!
Stay tuned. The journey continues. ✨
