'Jenga' is a Swahili word from meaning 'to build or develop'. It is an ideal word that reflects the mission of like minded individuals who came together to form Stichting JENGA AFRICA. Stichting Jenga Africa is an independent charity foundation registered in the Netherlands with the aim of improving the lives of children and communities. We work directly with the Government and Registered Non-Gove

rnmental Organisations with similar objectives. We aim to achieve this by directly supervising or financially supporting projects and organisations that aim at improving the health, education and livelihoods of disadvantaged children and communities in disadvantaged urban and rural Kenya by providing opportunities for education, networking, building capacity and mobilisation of resources.

📚 Education is not just about books. It is the door.

At Stichting Jenga Africa, we reach children in some of Kenya's most vulnerable communities — Mathare, Esiteti, and beyond. And we do it through school. Because school is where children show up. It's the most consistent, safe, and trusted space we have to make sure every child is seen, fed, and protected.

At Millennium Williams School in Mathare, Nairobi, and through our programs at Tigoi Girls High School and Esiteti, we combine education with daily nutrition, health awareness, and safety — because a child cannot learn on an empty stomach, and a girl cannot grow in fear.

17 students sponsored. Girls achieving B and C+ grades. Up to 1,000 children fed every day. That is what education as a gateway looks like in action.

"Education opens the door. We make sure every child walks through it — fed, safe, and free."

Want to help us keep that door open? 👉 jengaafrica.nl

Three years ago, a simple meeting changed everything. 🧡

Two beautiful souls challenged me to go beyond my limits and invited me into a world where too many mothers live with HIV. I said yes.

Today, I received my Orange Babies kit — and I felt it all. The gratitude. The memories. The hope. The resilience. 🧡

What started as a conversation became a calling. Next week, I cycle in Zambia to support Orange Babies and stand for mothers and children who deserve health, dignity, and a future.

I also cycle in honor of a dear soul who always stood for them. Someone who reminded me that true leadership is service, and true love is action. ❤️

This journey is bigger than me. But I'm so grateful to be part of it.

Orange Babies — three years in, and we're just getting started. 🧡🚴🏾‍♀️

Drie jaar geleden veranderde een eenvoudige ontmoeting alles. 🧡

Her smile tells a powerful story today.

Meet Faith, a bright student in Mathare whose dream is to become a teacher. Every morning, she walks to school carrying hope—and her favorite orange exercise book. Last year, your support made it possible for Faith to attend class, enjoy a healthy meal, and discover her love for reading.

Because of you, she’s not just learning. She’s thriving. Her recent B grade means she’s on track for a university scholarship, opening doors for her and her family.

🎗️ WORLD AIDS DAY: Education & Nutrition Save Lives 🎗️

Today, we stand in solidarity with those affected by HIV and recommit to prevention, care, and compassion.

At Jenga Africa, we believe education and nutrition are powerful tools in the fight against HIV:

📚 EDUCATION EMPOWERS
Knowledge is prevention. Comprehensive health education teaches young people about HIV transmission, testing, and treatment. When children understand, they protect themselves and their communities.

🥗 NUTRITION STRENGTHENS
Strong bodies fight disease. Proper nutrition boosts immune systems, supports treatment adherence, and helps children thrive. Our nutrition programs ensure vulnerable children have the fuel they need to stay healthy.

Together, these two pillars create hope:
✨ Informed young people making healthy choices
✨ Nourished children with stronger immune systems
✨ Communities breaking stigma through knowledge
✨ Families supported with care and dignity

We're committed to reaching more children with quality education and nutrition support. Every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy, informed, and free from fear.

The Critical Role of Parental Engagement in Child Development Interventions

Research consistently shows that parental involvement is one of the strongest predictors of educational success and child wellbeing. At Jenga Africa Foundation, we've built this principle into every intervention we design.

Why parental engagement matters:

• Academic Impact: Children with engaged parents demonstrate higher attendance rates, improved academic performance, and better behavioral outcomes.

• Emotional Resilience: Family support systems strengthen children's confidence, emotional regulation, and ability to navigate challenges.

• Community Multiplier Effect: When parents become advocates, the impact extends beyond individual children to entire communities.

• Sustainability: Programs that involve families create lasting change that persists beyond external support.

Our experience across Kenya and the Netherlands demonstrates that the most effective child empowerment initiatives are those that recognize parents as equal partners in development, not passive beneficiaries.

Whether through education programs at Millennium Williams School, nutrition initiatives, or sponsorship support, we've learned that investing in parental engagement is investing in generational change.

For organizations working with vulnerable children: How are you integrating parental involvement into your intervention design? We'd love to hear your insights.

Change starts with one courageous conversation today.

For years, we have listened and learned from Maasai women and girls. Together, we’ve walked new paths, supporting alternative rites of passage that honor tradition while protecting futures. Each smile, each shared story, is a step forward.

Yet, we know the journey is not finished. There are still barriers to break, voices to amplify, and dreams to nurture. The strength of the Maasai community inspires us to keep going, side by side.

Will you stand with us to uplift more women and girls? Your support creates real change. Link in bio. 🌸✨

🌟 10 YEARS OF IMPACT! 🌟

Ten years ago, we started with a dream: to empower vulnerable children in Kenya through education, health, and community support. Today, we celebrate YOU—our incredible donors, volunteers, and supporters who made it possible!

✨ Here's what we've accomplished together:
📚 Established Millennium Williams School in Mathare
⚽ Supported Girls Empowerment through sports at Tigoi Girls High School Basketball
🎓 Sponsoring of various students in high schools (
🥗 Provided nutrition programs through the Food Programs that feed over 1102 children in various schools.
💪 Empowered over 2500 children through direct engagement and enrolment in our school program since the year 2000.

This journey wouldn't exist without your belief in our mission. Every donation, every volunteer hour, every shared story has changed lives.
