Today we celebrate International Primate Day!

Across East and Southeast Asia, primates such as macaques, orangutans, and gibbons are facing increasingly complex challenges. Protecting them requires more than one approach.

Rescue centres, wildlife authorities, conservation organisations, local communities, and tourists all have a role to play.

This is why the 2026 WARN Asia Conference will bring together professionals from across East and Southeast Asia to explore this year's theme, Merging Animal Rescue and Ecotourism for Wildlife Conservation.

How can rescue centres contribute to conservation beyond rehabilitation? How can responsible tourism support wildlife, such as primates, as well as local communities? How can we work together to create lasting conservation impact?

Join us in Sandakan this November to share experiences, ideas, and solutions.

It is International Orangutan Day! 🦧

Today we celebrate Southeast Asia’s iconic great ape - the orangutan.

But celebrating wildlife also means asking how we can protect it.

Wildlife rescue centres play an important role in responding to the consequences of human-wildlife conflict, illegal wildlife trade, and habitat loss. They also have the opportunity to educate visitors and inspire greater support for wildlife protection.

Under the theme “Merging Animal Rescue and Ecotourism for Wildlife Conservation,” this year’s WARN Asia conference will explore how rescue, conservation, education, community engagement, and responsible tourism can work together for wildlife.

Join us at the 2026 WARN Asia Conference and be a part of the conversation.
