In 2025 we founded 14 projects in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We see a growing number of requests related to water scarcity and borehole rehabilitation driven by increasing droughts, groundwater depletion, and infrastructure failures. This trend demands continuous support and rapid response. πŸŒ±β˜˜οΈπŸ’¦

🌟 Empowering Girls through Education in Uganda! 🌟
Thanks to ESA Humanitarian Relief Fund, Youth and Women Initiative for Sustainable Development (YWISD) has provided 300 solar lanterns to girls in Wakiso District, Uganda, lighting the way for brighter futures. πŸ’‘
One of the girls shared:
β€œMy family couldn’t afford candles or kerosene to study. Now with the solar lantern, I can revise my books without disturbance. My dream to become a doctor is brighter. Thank you ESA for helping me excel in education.” πŸŒ±πŸ“š
We’re proud to support this incredible project and help these girls reach their full potential. πŸ™Œ

Our story...

The ESA Humanitarian Relief Fund was previously known as the Natural Disaster Fund. In 2009 the name and objectives of the fund were amended to allow us to support a broader scope of relief projects, such as HIV/AIDS prevention, educational programmes or housing projects, while maintaining the initial objective of providing immediate and direct funds to victims of natural disasters. The ESA Humanitarian Relief Fund is not part of the corporate organisation but is an initiative taken by ESA employees. The fund was founded in 1979 and is affiliated with the Social, Sport and Cultural Committee (SSCC) in ESTEC (Noordwijk, NL).
