𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 - 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗶𝗷𝗺𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺

On April 30 at 19.30 CET, the first edition of the Miriam van der Have-lecture takes place, themed 𝘝𝘢𝘯 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘯 𝘯𝘢𝘢𝘳 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘻𝘦𝘵 (from hidden to resistance). The lecture will take place in Nijmegen, but can also be followed via livestream.

This event marks Miriam stepping down as director of NNID, as well as the start of a new annual initiative focusing on s*x diversity, human rights, and social inclusion. A dynamic program featuring inspiring speakers from the Netherlands and abroad will highlight inters*x emancipation from their own perspectives. Expect an evening of politics, science, activism and even a theatrical contribution.

English subtitles will be available.

A ground breaking moment in the history of European inters*x activism. This new standard for inters*x rights will be launched on October 27th. More info will follow!

Today on October 7th, in a watershed moment, the Council of Europe’s 46 Member States have unanimously adopted the Recommendation of the Committee of Ministers to Member States on Equal Rights for Inters*x Persons, setting out the most comprehensive framework to date for protecting the human rights of inters*x people across Europe 💜💛

Organisation Inters*x International Europe (OII Europe) and ILGA-Europe highly welcome the Recommendation which establishes a new gold standard, and paves the way for the establishment of clear, standardised human rights protections for persons with variations of s*x characteristics across the Council of Europe region.

The Council of Europe will launch the new Recommendation on Equal Rights for Inters*x Persons on 27 October 2025 at a high-level event in Strasbourg, organised under the Maltese Presidency of the Committee of Ministers and will be broadcasted live online. The launch will take place in conjunction with the campaign, a joint initiative with OII Europe running from 26 October to 8 November 2025 (from Inters*x Awareness Day until Inters*x Day of Solidarity), aimed at raising public awareness, visibility and political momentum for inters*x equality across Europe.

Wow! Recently, the inters*x community made history with the very first Amsterdam inters*x boat! 💛💜

After several years of joining Canal Pride in Utrecht, it was time for Amsterdam. Around 100 people came together, both inters*x individuals and allies, to share one powerful message: “Love Every Body.”

Yellow flags, purple hearts, and clear slogans filled the boat. All of it was set to the amazing beats of DJ Desiree, who came all the way over to perform. A huge thank-you to Spread The Word Inters*x Collective for organizing and making this special moment possible! And of course, thanks to everyone who joined. 🫶

_Guest lecture on inters*x rights at SIT Abroad_

Today, we were in Amsterdam to give a guest lecture to these wonderful students from SIT Abroad. Together, we explored different topics of inters*x rights, such as healthcare, education, employment, and human rights. We took a closer look at the role of the UN within inters*x inclusion. We are grateful for the insightful discussions and critical reflections. Sessions like these are crucial for raising awareness fostering a deeper understanding of inters*x issues.
