The next academic year is approaching fast, and we have a number of events lined up to kick off the new semester!

• On Monday, 17 August, you can stop by our stand at the Radboud Intro market in the afternoon, near the Spinoza building.

• We also have a stand at the Radboud Intro festival, on Saturday, 22 August, in Park Brakkenstein!

• If you want to see what VSA Nijmegen is all about and whether our association might be something for you, our Welcome Potluck on 7 September is a great first activity! 🍽️

• We also have a second potluck planned later in September, on Tuesday, the 22nd -- the first from or 'world tour' potluck themes 🌍

We'd love to see you at one of our activities!

Perhaps you already know of some vegan celebrities, but we've put together a list of celebrities who you might not know are vegan! 💚

The new academic year is slowly but surely approaching 🗓️, and we have already scheduled a potluck world tour 🌍 from September until the winter break! We'll be starting with a welcome potluck on 7 September, and then continue with potlucks themed around the continents of the world. 🗺️

In case you're new here: At VSA Nijmegen, one of our regular activities are our potlucks, where everyone brings a vegan dish to share, and we eat together! 😋 What you bring -- a main dish, a dessert, something cooked, baked, or neither -- is entirely up to you, but to give some inspiration 💡 we usually have a theme that you can follow (or not, if you'd rather go with a different idea!). If you don't have time for a complicated recipe then don't worry, you're just as welcome with some snacks you bought on the way, or empty-handed.

The important things to bring to a potluck are: your dish, a plate and some cutlery 🍽️, perhaps a cup 🥤, and yourself! 💚

At VSA Nijmegen, we've had many different potluck themes over the years: some very creative 🤯 ones, some weird 😵‍💫 themes, some that turned out a bit one-sided, and some that resulted in much more amazing 😍 and varied dishes than we could have imagined! 👀

Faya, one of our active members, is raising money for a plant-based global food system by walking the Apeldoornse Vierdaagse! 💚🥾
The proceeds will go to ProVeg, an organisation committed to a more animal-friendly, sustainable, and healthier food system through political campaigning, working with food producers, and research. 🐷🌱

You can donate to Faya's fundraiser at the link in the post! The Vierdaagse will be starting in a week's time.

As of today, the elections for the Radboud University Student Council have opened, and as a RU student, you can choose who will represent you in the council!

One of the options on the ballot is Green+ (), a student party founded by active members of VSA Nijmegen and AGREEn in 2023, with a focus on sustainability, inclusivity, animal ethics, and social safety.

If those topics are important to you, please consider voting for Green+ in the elections! 💚
