De docenten van de ALLSAFE scholen in de sloppenwijk Kibera in Kenia doen hun uiterste best om de kinderen kwalitatief zo goed mogelijk onderwijs te bieden.

Daarom bereiden zij zich voor op het nieuwe schooljaar met een vierdaagse training.

Het doel van de training is om de vaardigheden en kennis van leerkrachten te versterken, zodat zij het leerproces op hun eigen school effectiever kunnen begeleiden.

At Kesho Connect, we believe that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. That is why we are committed to empowering young people in Kibera by investing in their future through education and skills development. Through our sponsorship program at St. Charles Lwanga Vocational Training Centre, we are supporting young people to gain practical knowledge, build their confidence, and prepare for meaningful careers that can transform not only their own lives but also those of their families and communities.
Today, we are proud to share Scovia's story.

"My name is Scovia. I am 19 years old, and I have grown up in Kibera. I am the second born in my family. My mother is a stay-at-home mum, while my father is a welder who only gets work when it is available. Life has not always been easy, and my family depends on me to help create a better future for us.
I completed my secondary education at Academia School in Kibera in 2023. After finishing school, I stayed at home for a long time because my family could not afford college fees. I wanted to continue my education, so I thought about looking for a night job that would allow me to study during the day. Unfortunately, everywhere I applied required a certificate from a tertiary institution, which I didn't have. It felt like I was trapped in a cycle where I needed education to get a job, but I needed a job to afford education.
Then one day, I received a phone call from Kesho Connect about a scholarship opportunity. It was one of the happiest days of my life. That call gave me hope when I had almost given up.
Today, I am pursuing Food Processing Technology at St. Charles Lwanga Vocational Training Centre, thanks to the support of Kesho Connect. This opportunity has changed the direction of my life. I am gaining valuable skills that will help me build a stable future.
My dream is to work as a front office attendant. I know that with hard work, determination, and the education I am receiving, I can achieve my goals. More importantly, I want to support my family and give them a better life because they have always believed in me.

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming visitors from the Netherlands to Kesho Connect!

Peter, a dedicated supporter of Stichting4Life Foundation, visited us together with his family to learn more about the work we do in Kibera. It was a wonderful opportunity to share our mission and showcase how Kesho Connect is creating opportunities for young people through meaningful partnerships.

Visits like these strengthen the connections that make our work possible. We are grateful for Peter and his family's time, interest, and continued support as we work together to empower the next generation.

building confident, skilled, and employable youth for sustainable future.

Building careers starts long before the first day on the job!

Kesho Connect held a three-day Employability and Social Skills Workshop, equipping young people with the essential skills they need to thrive in today's workplace.

At Kesho Connect, our mission goes beyond linking youth to internships and employment opportunities. We are equally committed to preparing them for success by building their confidence, strengthening their social and professional skills, and ensuring they are workplace-ready.

Together, we're empowering young people with the knowledge, mindset, and skills they need to unlock sustainable career opportunities.


Main Objective:
➡️ to equip participants with practical employability and social skills that enhance their confidence, professionalism,
communication, teamwork, and readiness for education, internships, and
sustainable employment opportunities.

Other Objectives:
➡️ To empower youths with essential workplace and interpersonal skills
needed to successfully navigate professional environments and build
sustainable futures.

➡️ To prepare participants for the job market by strengthening their
communication, teamwork, problem-solving, professionalism, and career
development skills.

➡️ To develop the social and employability competencies necessary for
leadership, workplace success, and meaningful community engagement.

➡️ To enhance participants’ ability to interact effectively, adapt to
workplace expectations, and pursue opportunities in employment, education and business

Dinsdag 16 juni was het de ‘Day of the African Child’, maar bij Stichting 4Life is dat eigenlijk elke dag zo.
Elke ochtend staan ons team en onze schoolpartners klaar voor de kinderen in onze gemeenschap, om hun ontwikkeling, hun welzijn en hun plezier te stimuleren.

We koesteren hun blije gezichten.
We vieren hun nieuwsgierigheid.
En we zijn alle teamleden die elke dag onvergetelijk maken, eindeloos dankbaar. 💛
