Hoe ziet een dag eruit op de ALLSAFE middelbare school in de sloppenwijk Kibera,
bij Nairobi in Kenia?

Luister naar haar verhaal!

Hazel, een leerling in de derde klas, vertelt ons hoe een dag op de ALLSAFE middelbare school in de sloppenwijk Kibera eruit ziet.

De school begint om 09.00 uur met Wiskunde, na eerst een gebed met de docent.

Om 11.00 uur is er een korte pauze, met daarna om 13.00 uur de lunch pauze.

Daarna worden de lessen hervat om 14.00 uur tot 16.00 uur, waarna er tijd is voor sport en spel.

Om 17.00 uur eindigt de dag waarna de leerlingen naar huis gaan.

Stichting4life also provides digital education!

Stichting4life is rolling out an ambitious IT program at the ALLSAFE School and the Aim Higher, Fairview, and Akili schools in the Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya.

Standardized lessons in digital literacy are being introduced from the lower grades, ensuring that students are prepared for the digital world.

With the support of local companies Incento Kenya and DEAN, we are making a tremendous leap forward!

Stichting4life biedt ook digitaal onderwijs!

Stichting4life rolt een ambitieus IT programma uit op de ALLSAFE school en de scholen Aim Higher, Fairview en Akili, in de sloppenwijk Kibera bij Nairobi in Kenia.

Gestandaardiseerde lessen in digitale geletterdheid worden vanaf de lagere klassen geïntroduceerd, zodat de leerlingen voorbereid zijn op de digitale wereld.

Met steun van de lokale bedrijven Incento Kenya en DEAN maken wij een enorme sprong voorwaarts!

The bridge to the future!

With our program Kesho Connect (“Tomorrow” in Swahili), Stichting4life offers young people from Kibera opportunities for employment or further education, thereby building a bridge between the education we provide and access to the labor market.

We establish connections with the business community in Kenya through active networking and encourage companies to take responsibility for their social impact.

As a result, we have already been able to secure internships and jobs for young people from the Kibera slum with organizations such as Bohemian Flowers, a security company, and Bitco Systems, as well as scholarships and empowerment training with, among others, Shofco.

We have also succeeded in involving the Dutch NGO Edukans in this project.
In the future, we aim to train young people in specific skills that are in demand by the business sector.

For companies that want to invest socially, this is an opportunity to make a direct impact on education.

In this way, we can bridge the gap between the backgrounds of these young people and a professional career.

De brug naar de toekomst!

Met ons programma Kesho Connect (‘Morgen' in het Swahili), biedt Stichting4life jonge mensen uit Kibera kansen voor banen of vervolgonderwijs
en slaat hiermee een brug tussen het onderwijs dat wij bieden, en kansen richting de arbeidsmarkt.

Wij leggen connectie met het bedrijfsleven in Kenia door intensief te netwerken, en spreken bedrijven aan op hun sociale verantwoordelijkheid.

Zo hebben wij al stageplekken en banen kunnen vinden voor de jeugd uit de sloppenwijk Kibera, bij Bohemian Flowers, een beveiligingsbedrijf en Bitco Systems, en scholarships en empowerment-trainingen bij o.a. Shofco.

Ook hebben wij inmiddels De Nederlandse NGO Edukans kunnen betrekken in dit project.
Hiermee willen wij in de toekomst jongeren trainen in specifieke vaardigheden waar het bedrijfsleven om vraagt.

Voor bedrijven die maatschappelijk willen investeren, is dit een kans om direct verschil te maken in onderwijs!

Zo kunnen wij de kloof overbruggen tussen de achtergrond van de jonge mensen en een professionele carrière!

At Stichting4life, we are dedicated to empowering young people in the Kibera slum in Nairobi by providing access to education and creating pathways to employment.

Today, our foundation supports over 1,200 children and young people. We provide them with primary and secondary education, while actively guiding them toward meaningful opportunities for their future.

We believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Our mission is to transform lives, unlock potential, and give these children the chance to build a brighter, more independent future.

Met Stichting4life zetten wij ons in voor de jongeren in de sloppenwijk Kibera bij Nairobi, met onderwijs en werkgelegenheid kansen.

Onze stichting bereikt inmiddels 1.200 jongeren kinderen, en voorziet hen hiermee van basis en middelbaar onderwijs en geeft actief ondersteuning bij het creëren van kansen voor de volgende stap

Onze missie is om met onderwijs het leven van deze kinderen te veranderen en de kansen op een betere toekomst te vergroten!
