About Precious Plastic Maastricht
Precious Plastic is a global community of hundreds of people working towards a solution to plastic pollution. The community was started in 2013 by Dave Hakkens and is now at its third version counting on dozens of people working on the project, remotely or on site (somewhere below sea level in the Netherlands). We are now starting a Precious Plastic community in Maastricht. Set up by students, but meant to involve the whole Maastricht community. We are creating a workspace where we reuse the plastic we collect in Maastricht to create new, useful products. This way, people get a cool design in exchange for their recycled plastic and we can raise awareness for the immense plastic pollution problem.
