Puss’ poetry can’t start without some music of course!

This time Seth McManus is going to play some tunes for us to start the evening.

Seth McManus is a singer-songwriter living in Maastricht. He writes piano-driven songs about heartbreak, friendship, and family. He loves to explore themes and melodies that illicit emotion in the listener while connecting personal experiences with universal feelings. He is working to release his first collection of songs The Panhandle Blues EP on streaming services soon!

The other poet in our line up is a familiar face. If not from a few editions ago than from helping us out as a volunteer.

We love to introduce to you Carlo Civitarese

Carlo and his ghostwriter D’Artagnan.

Darty is back and ready for more. After a year of incessant scribbling, he is ready to pour out his soul for your listening pleasure. His writing more than ever visceral and mature, the whiskered wizard’s depth of reflection knows no bounds. Come hear at your own peril, for you may leave a different person than what you were.

It’s high time to start introducing the poets and musician for the upcoming edition!

This edition will have more time dedicated to the open stage. But ofcourse we invited some amazing performers for you!

The first one we like to introduce to you is Rihab el Majdoubi.

Rihab, the Young Poet Laureate of the Netherlands, is, among other things, a versatile poet and spoken word artist who writes and performs from deep reflections on life and the world around her. She has appeared on a wide range of stages, from Poetry International to Ruigoord. In her work, she explores personal stories, everyday observations, and social themes—always with a sharp eye and an open heart.

Just before the summer starts and we all go on holiday we are back with another event!

This time we invite everyone to bring their poetry to the open stage since this time it’s going to be a bigger part of the event.

But for sure we also have a fantastic line up prepared for you! Seth McManus is starting with great tunes! Carlo Civitarese and Rihab el Majdoubi are coming to share their beautifull poetry!

No time to take a breath for us from last edition. Next Puss’Poetry is coming up very soon!
But ofcourse we take a moment to rejoy the last efition with you. And what an edition it has been!

Roos van Marle and Liam de Pauw started us off with some great music, which reappeared later on. In the first half the event poetry was read to you by Fristen Sinn and Rick Ruliaman! Funny and capturing. Than the floor was yours on our open stage where we heard your fantastic words. After the break we screened “to be dead is to be dead” by Elembusterocreativo as an intermezzo of our team. Lucile de Varzala and Loren read their beautiful poems to you, just before we opened the stage for you again!

Our partner Limestone Booksstone_books_maas was there too and Restaurant De Brandweerkantineeerkantine took great care of us all.

Soon we are sharing more pictures with you and the poster for the next special edition!

Last sunday we were at the talent cafe of Gave.fonds at Artichoque Gallery Maastricht.

Along with other amazing makers we are supported by the fund we performed some poetry and spoke about what we do at Puss' Poetry.

Gave.fonds has played a vital role for us last year, profiding the materials als space to grow as an organisation and lay the fundaments for our foundation.
After a succesful year we established our foundation in December.

Thank you for having us Gave.Fonds and for supporting us!

Ofcourse we can’t start Puss’ Poetry without some music! Roos van Marle and Liam de Pauw got our back, playing some folk.

Liam de Pauw and Roos van Marle are both musicians from the Conservatory of Maastricht. Liam is a classical guitarist who grew up in Lausanne, Monza and Minneapolis. Roos is a classical singer from Limburg. For Puss Poetry they decided to perform a couple of folk songs to try out something more easy-going for the spring.

Nastasija Loren might look familiar to you. Don’t worry, because you’re right! Nastasija Loren opened our 10th edition with her great music. This time she’s back with her poetry.

Nastasija Loren (“Loren”) is a master’s psychology student, musical artist and creative writer.

Writing, to her, is an essential form of artistic expression that can help us reflect on our shared personal experiences, environment and cultures. Her poems explore themes of connection, love, empowerment and the art of noticing the small joys of daily life.

She feels most inspired by the world and people around her, as well as by writers like Mary Oliver, Maya Angelou and Rainer Maria Rilke.

Fun fact: Alongside her creative writing pursuits, she celebrated her first academic publication last year!
