We are a multidisciplinary group of researchers from Maastricht University and Zuyd University of Applied Sciences who join their efforts to contribute to the health situation of people living in slums. Our team is supported by Maastricht University and Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. We work together with companies, research institutes, NGO’s and any other partners that may contribute to our
mission, both in the Netherlands and in India. We are embedded in a network of Global Health research and education partners. Our mission is to contribute to the health situation of people living in slums by initiating and doing research that directly contributes to ‘health in slums’. This research is done with students from different bachelor and master programmes, PhD students and senior researchers. We work together with a large network of companies, research institutes and health care organisations, both in the Netherlands and India, where our main focus lies. PURPOSE
Our purpose is to initiate and do multidisciplinary research that directly contributes to the health situation in slums. We involve students wherever possible, we train PhD students and we try to generate funds for this research. Our research is practice oriented: it must directly contribute to practical solutions that are affordable and usable for people in slums, but also contribute to scientific knowledge. A secondary aim is capacity building by training students and PhD’s.
