Candidates with a sound artistic practice in material research are welcome to apply with an existing project to further develop during a residency period at the Jan van Eyck Academie.

In the framework of the Future Materials programme at the Jan van Eyck Academie and in collaboration with Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, the Jan van Eyck is welcoming applications for projects that explore methods and practices that investigate the regenerative potential of waste.

The programme supports environmentally conscious art and design practices by promoting research and disseminating knowledge on sustainable materials. The selected Fellows will be supported by the JvE Labs – Future Materials, Material Matters, Food, Printing & Publishing, Photography & Audiovisual, and the Library – and will be immersed in a community of some 40 international artists, designers, curators, writers, and others sharing perspectives on the complexities of a world in transition.

The selected Fellows will also have access to the expertise and facilities of the Art Academy Maastricht at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, CHILL at Brightlands Chemelot Campus, and Textile Innovation Maastricht.

These Fellowship positions are co-funded by SIA, the Taskforce for Applied Research, which is part of the NWO, the Dutch Research Council.
