Order of the Crimson Poppy

Order of the Crimson Poppy Order of the Crimson Poppy was conceived by Sophie Klep. She wanted to open a hostel and use the profits to support disadvantaged girls.

This page helps fundraise for Moringe Sokoine Secondary School in Monduli, Tanzania. Sophie never joined facebook. We are using this platform for a few reasons:
+Most of those who knew Sophie do use facebook.
+Social media, in this format, will soon be available free to most of the African continent. The initial goal of the Order of the Crimson Poppy (OotCP) was to provide a scholarship to a disad

vantaged Tanzanian girl. This was Sophie's initiative. We've collected quite a bit since her passing in April. A worthy girl has been found in Monduli, Tanzania and OothCP will be supporting Kadogo for the next 4 years. As we garner more donations we will endeavour to repeat the experience. With this page we hope to stimulate a conversation between Kadogo and her benefactors and also create a forum where we can honor Sophie's initiative.

Thanks to those who donated, through all available channels, we have collected €1478.51! As soon as the leftover US$500.00 from the 1995 fundraise.com (not a recommended service)bcampaign is transferred we will be able to sponsor Kadogo through the end of secondary school and have some change to spare for MSSS. Thanks for your generosity everyone!

Great news from Maasae Girls Monduli!
Kadogo is about to finish her Form-4 national exams. The principal, Seth, expects her to pass and continue on to 5th form in 2020.
Many thanks to all who donated and helped make this lifelong change in Kadogo's life possible. Sophie would have been very proud, as I surely am!
Please read the letter I received from Kadogo in the photo.

The disconcerting part of the recent messages from Seth and Helen is the impact weather is having on East Africa.
"The weather in this part of the world has been terrible. We totally had no rain last year and therefore very poor harvests.
This year the rain in some areas is too much, they have floods, in others non. Well we hope it will stabilize soon."-Seth

What would have been Sophie's 44th birthday is approaching on December 31. A good time for another OotCP fundraiser. As soon as there a concrete goal for funds raised (Waiting on suggestions from Monduli) I will get back to the members. In the meantime, please spread the word to others who may be interested and get back to me with any suggestions.
