🌍 Volunteer Voices | Celebrating Athira's Journey! 💛

As Athira's volunteering journey with Go-Woman Alliance Europe comes to an end, we're taking a moment to celebrate the experiences, connections and contributions she's made along the way.

From international training in Málaga and meeting fellow volunteers in Leiden, to bringing people together and delivering a painting session as part of Healthy Inclusion through Arts, Athira has embraced the opportunities that came her way. 🎨✨

With a background in human rights law, Athira reflected on how volunteering helped her move beyond theory and gain a deeper understanding of community-level work, good practices and developing practical tools that make a difference.

And it wasn't just about professional learning. The friendships, cultural exchanges and connections she made along the way have been just as valuable, with some continuing well beyond the projects. 🌍

When asked to describe her experience in three words, Athira chose:

As FEMpower in Finance moves towards completion, we've been reflecting on the feedback received during the pilot.

⭐ 91.3% positive overall feedback
📚 98% rated the content as relevant
💡 95% rated it positively for usefulness and ease of use
🙌 39 out of 40 would recommend it

Behind these numbers is something important: creating financial learning that women find relevant, practical and accessible.

A fantastic result for everyone involved in developing and testing the resources across Europe.

🌍 Throwback to Palermo, Italy

During our Healthy Arts project, we had the opportunity to visit the Instituto dei Ciechi in Palermo and see first-hand how art and creativity can support wellbeing.

We experienced a range of different art forms, including music and movement. One activity involved participants moving together to music, with guidance through touch to help communicate the pace, moving faster as the music increased and slowing when it changed.

What was incredible was how quickly the whole room became immersed in the experience. Everyone joined in, followed the energy of the music and experienced how creativity can create connection, expression and enjoyment. Something that can't fully be shared in words.

It was a memorable opportunity to learn from people already using creative approaches to support wellbeing and to see the impact of art in a completely different way.

Over the past few years, we’ve had the pleasure of working alongside partners, organisations and participants across Europe through projects including 3 Kitchens, FEMpower in Finance and Healthy Arts. 🌍

One of the most valuable parts of these projects has been the opportunity to work with people already making a difference on the ground in their own communities, as well as learning from the experiences and perspectives of participants.

From sharing knowledge and ideas to developing resources and trying new approaches, each partnership has brought something different.

We’re grateful to everyone who has been part of these projects and to the partners who have worked with us across different countries to make them possible.

New Article on our website! The Power of International Opportunities.

The true impact of a project isn’t always measured by what happens during it. Sometimes, it’s seen in the people whose lives continue to change long after the project ends.

For Deiana from the Netherlands, Healthy Arts became far more than a creative project. It became the beginning of a journey of self-discovery, confidence and connection.

We’re incredibly proud to share her story and the journey she has taken since being part of Healthy Arts.

Her experience is a powerful reminder of what international opportunities can offer young people, new experiences, new connections, the confidence to step outside their comfort zone and sometimes, a new understanding of themselves.

As part of the FEMpower in Finance Erasmus+ project, Go-Woman Alliance EU has contributed to the development of this important resource, bringing together accessible and practical financial education for women and adult educators.

A meaningful close to the Healthy Arts project in Málaga.
