The LOVA Network connects people who care about gender issues in anthropology

Based in the Netherlands, LOVA was founded in 1979 during the second wave of feminism. LOVA is the only feminist anthropological organization in the Netherlands that has kept its activities alive for more than 30 years. LOVA is an active network of engaged (feminist) anthropologist within and outside the Netherlands. LOVA’s members are very diverse: they consist of students, junior and senior acad

emics and professionals working outside of academia. LOVA’s academic members study gender in relation to a wide variety of topics such as development, sexuality, ethnicity, poverty, multiculturalism, conflict and globalization. LOVA members are also actively involved in governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Join us for this year's LOVA Lecture - 3 December in Nijmegen!

On 12 June we are organising our Lova Annual Meeting at VU University in Amsterdam. A public lecture will be delivered by Dr Ea Høg Utoft from Radboud University Nijmegen on the discursive politics of social safety work in Dutch higher education, and we will award the Marjan Rens/Lova thesis award for the best MA thesis in the field of feminist anthropology and gender studies.

We also invite you, as members, to attend our General Members Assembly (GMA) prior to the lecture, starting at 12:30 in the canteen of VU University. Your participation is highly valued, as this year's GMA includes a change of the Board!
