Our ( Slha Leiden),chairman (Moses Tucker),was in attendance at Themneh Association Holland‘. ‘TAA DA’ , Launching and inauguration ceremony of their organization and newly elected chairman respectively.
The occasion was spectacular with a lot of cultural activities and drama show.

Goed nieuws voor elektrische rijders! Vanaf nu mag je in Leiden je elektrische auto opladen op een openbare parkeerplek met een kabel vanuit huis. Wel moet je zorgen voor een veilige oplossing, zoals een kabelmat of platte laadkabel. Zo houden we de stoep veilig en goed toegankelijk. Benieuwd naar alle spelregels en voorwaarden? Groep 8 van basisschool Leimundo kreeg wel heel bijzonder bezoek: wijk- en jeugdagenten Jan-Willem en Robin sloten aan bij een les van Kapot Sterk, onderdeel van Deal Breakers. Dit programma wordt op zeven Leidse basisscholen gegeven en helpt leerlingen weerbaarder te worden tegen (drugs)criminaliteit.

In vijf lessen leren kinderen over de risico’s van verkeerde keuzes, maar vooral ook van de kansen die positieve keuzes bieden. Pedagoog Maisa Gilliot van Centrum 16•22 ziet hoe leerlingen betrokken zijn: “De leerlingen vonden het een interessante en leerzame les. Mooi om te zien hoe zij actief meedachten en hun mening deelden.”

Ook gastdocenten, zoals wijk- en jeugdagent, jongerenwerker van SOL Leiden en medewerker van PIT geven les. Zo draagt het programma bij aan een sterke en weerbare generatie, en stromen de leerlingen straks ‘kapot sterk’ door naar het voortgezet onderwijs 💪.
