📢 Join us for a conversation with a global panel on challenges and developments in pathways to justice for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV).

How can survivors of GBV uphold their right to safety and self-determination, and what role do shelters and advocates play in this? Each survivor’s experience is unique, so one-size-fits-all systems often overlook the complex barriers they face. This event examines obstacles women across the globe encounter when seeking justice, and the systemic challenges that impede justice.

Join the GNWS parallel event at CSW70 on March 9th to explore this important topic.
🎤 From Safety to Justice: Survivors’ Pathways to Justice in Women’s Shelter Settings

Today is Human Rights Day and the final day of the 16 Days of Activism.
But the fight to end gender-based violence does not end today. Your voice and actions still matter — and they are urgently needed.

Here’s how you can keep driving change:
🤝 Join or create communities that raise awareness and show solidarity.
💜 Support organizations working to end GBV — including by becoming a Friend of GNWS and amplifying a global movement for safety and justice.

About GNWS:
We are a volunteer-run global network connecting women’s shelters, frontline organizations, and national networks around the world. Together, we:
✅ Keep Lila.help running — a global directory of verified helplines and support services.
✅ Coordinate global actions like the World Conference of Women’s Shelters, building stronger, survivor-centered responses.
✅ Ensure survivors’ voices are heard on regional and international platforms.

If you believe every woman and girl deserves safety, dignity, and justice, we encourage you to take action today.
Let’s act in solidarity in the global effort to end gender-based violence.

🎯Why is Combating Digital Violence Important?

Every day, women and girls face violence not just in streets or homes, but on screens.
From stalking and doxxing, to non-consensual image sharing, hate speech, and cyber harassment — digital violence is real violence.

It silences voices.
It spreads fear.
It pushes women and girls out of online spaces that should be safe, inclusive, and empowering.

📊 According to UN Women, over 1 in 3 women have experienced some form of online violence, and 85% have witnessed it. Young women, activists, and marginalized groups are especially targeted.

🔍8 common forms of Digital Violence including:
1. Online harassment
2. Image-based abuse
3. Doxxing
4. Sextortion
5. Cyberstalking
6. Deepfake po*******hy
7. Gender-based hate speech
8. Cyberflashing

✊ How We Can Make Online Spaces Safer
1️⃣ Enhance Digital Literacy and protect your own digital security
2️⃣ Think twice before your online action
3️⃣ Report abuse, don’t ignore it
4️⃣ Support those who are abused or targeted by listening and companionship

Let’s make the internet a space where every woman and girl can speak, learn, and lead — without fear. 🌍
