A market is only as good as the people in it 🌿

It’s officially wreath season 🎄

Every December this is my favourite thing to host, a room full of pine, dried oranges, cinnamon sticks, eucalyptus, berries, ribbons, candles… and people making their own wreath from scratch, their way.

No two wreaths ever look the same. Someone goes full traditional. Someone makes the most minimal, Scandinavian thing you’ve ever seen. Someone brings their partner and they argue the whole time about where the big bow should go 😅

Here’s what you can expect:
→ 1.5–2 hours of hands-on wreath-making
→ All materials included (natural + festive)
→ A drink in your hand
→ Your own ~30cm wreath to hang on your door
→ That exact Christmas feeling you can’t quite buy anywhere else 🎄

Sunday plan: make a terrarium in Rotterdam 🌿

On Sunday 25 October I’m hosting a terrarium workshop at The Usual Hotel on Westblaak. 17:00 - 18:30. A nice slow way to end your Sunday - hands in some soil, a glass of w**e within reach, and your own tropical jungle in a jar to take home.

Here’s how it goes: a quick intro to how a terrarium actually works, then you pick your tropical plants, build your layers, plant everything inside your glass jar, add the finishing touches. I’ll walk you through every step and send you home with care tips so it actually survives 🤍

No experience needed. Everything is included. Come solo, come with your person, come with the friend you keep rescheduling on.

On Thursday 22 October I’m hosting a kokedama workshop at Loods 6, that gorgeous historical warehouse by the water in Amsterdam. 18:30 - 20:00. You finish work, swing by, make something with your hands, and leave with your own plant before the evening is even over.

Here’s how it goes: a quick intro to what kokedama actually is (a Japanese technique, wrapping a plant’s roots in a moss ball instead of a pot), then straight into making your own. Shape the mud ball, wrap the plant with moss, pick how you want to display it at home. I’ll walk you through every step and send you home with care tips so it actually thrives 🤍

No experience needed. Everything is included. Come solo, come with a friend, come with the person you keep saying you’ll “catch up with soon.”

So, what is a kokedama? 🌿

It’s a Japanese plant technique that’s been around for roughly 300 years. Instead of planting into a pot, the plant’s roots are wrapped in a ball of soil and moss, the whole thing becomes this little living sculpture you can hang, place on a shelf, or give to someone who deserves something nicer than another candle.

The best part? They’re almost impossible to kill. You soak the moss ball in water once a week, let it drain, put it back. That’s it. No tray. No repotting. No “wait, when did I last water this?”

So here’s what people actually leave with 🌿

Not just a plant.

They leave with something they made with their own hands - a kokedama, a terrarium, a wreath, whatever we’re making that day and it looks nothing like what they thought they could pull off. They leave with the proof that they are a plant person — they just didn’t know it yet. With a slower hour than they’ve had in weeks. And honestly, a lot of my regulars first met each other at a workshop, so… sometimes new friends too.

The hosting part nobody sees? 6am boxes, last-minute no-shows, me carrying half a jungle through Amsterdam. All true 😅

But every single workshop, there’s that moment at the end where everyone’s just quietly admiring the thing they just made - half surprised it turned out that beautiful and that’s why I keep showing up.
