๐Š๐ข๐œ๐ค๐ข๐ง๐  ๐จ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ ๐š ๐Ÿ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐œ ๐“๐ฐ๐ข๐ง ๐‘๐ฎ๐ง ๐ฒ๐ž๐š๐ซ ๐ฐ๐š๐ฌ ๐„๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ž!

This weekend Emilie ran the Weerwater Run in Almere, her first ever race. She came in the top 30 with a personal best time, and we couldn't be prouder of her.

Emilie is 12 years old and a former TAPS donor twin, born 9 weeks premature weighing just 1106 grams. She had three blood transfusions, survived infections and complications. The decision to use her first race to raise money for TAPS Support was entirely her own idea, made last minute just because she wanted to (and anyone who knows Emilie, knows that this is how she does everything in her life).

TAPS and prematurity have left their mark in the form of autism, DCD, and ADHD, but Emilie and her twin sister Mathilde live life to the fullest and share a passion for raising awareness. Seeing her cross that finish line, in the top 30, on her first ever race, means more than we can say.

The TAPS Support and Twin Run communities were saddened to hear of the recent passing of Jan Smit.

Jan was the father of Mart Smit, our Twin Run coordinator, and one of our strongest supporters of the first Twin Run. He coordinated not only Mart's road crew, but also the photography along the 90 kilometer challenge that Mart undertook back in 2021, but his company, Smit in Beeld, was one of the Twin Run's first sponsors.

Our thoughts are with his wife Astrid, Mart, Sylvia, Lennard and Thomas, and the rest of their families at this time.

We are so grateful we had the chance to know Jan, and his support and generosity will always be remembered by the TAPS Support and Twin Run communities.
