IDARE NHL Stenden

"IDARE" stands for Inclusion, Diversity, Anti-Racism, and Equity. We offer a listening ear to students and employees.

IDARE is a community that fosters an inclusive environment at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, where everyone is and feels treated equally, where respect is the norm and diversity is valued. Any employees and students are welcome to contact us to contribute actively to a more inclusive NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, ask any questions, or provide any suggestions. IDARE is co

mmitted to a more inclusive environment within the NHL Stenden, and we think it is essential to make what often remains invisible more visible. Everyone has an opportunity to request help and submit an anonymous report through IDARE. Any employees and students can share stories related to IDARE principles: inclusion, diversity, anti-racism, and equity. Although IDARE is not a complaint department, NHL Stenden becomes more aware that your story is not an isolated one.

• Webinars

We invite employees, students, and stakeholders to participate in the panel discussion on various topics connected to inclusion, diversity, anti-racism, and equity during the webinars. Our webinars aim to increase the awareness of the IDARE principles for the faculties, employees, and students of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences.

• Online Café

We invite everyone within NHL Stenden twice a month for a short online discussion about anything on our minds or to listen and connect with others. The conversation topics range from accessibility to gender to oppression to religion and beyond.

• Other Activities and Events

We organise in-person events, such as guest lectures, lunch talks, panel discussions, and create a presence at NHL Stenden events, such as international open days, study start week, etcetera.

What does belonging mean to you? 🌍

Come join us for a chill painting afternoon with music, snacks, drinks, and good conversations.

The IDARE Painting Afternoon is all about expressing yourself through art and spending time together in a comfortable and welcoming space.

You’ll get your own canvas and painting materials to create something inspired by the question “What does belonging mean to you?”

There’s absolutely no pressure to be good at painting or to share anything personal. Just come, relax, paint, meet new people, and enjoy the atmosphere 💕

Ever wondered what people would share if they had a blank wall and complete freedom? 🎨

RUN-EU students from the Celebrating Diversity program stepped into R10 with one goal: to express something that inspires them or represents who they are.

What started as an empty space quickly turned into a vibrant wall full of color, meaning, and personal stories.

Guided by the artist , students brought their ideas to life—each drawing adding a unique voice to the bigger picture.

Over the years, women around the world have fought for rights, opportunities, and recognition in every part of society. Important progress has been made, but many challenges still remain.

Gender inequality continues to affect women’s opportunities, representation, and safety in many countries. Raising awareness and continuing these conversations is essential to creating more equal and safer societies.

International Women’s Day reminds us that progress is possible, but the work toward equality and dignity for all women is not finished. Women's rights are human rights.
