8 children recently had their wish come true together at Fundación PortAventura, an accessible theme park in Spain 🌟 They travelled with their families from Greece, Switzerland and France for a much-needed break from medical routines in this safe and accessible resort.

Every detail of the wish trip was crafted with care. Each family had their own villa with personalised support and unlimited access to the theme park as well as a farewell ceremony at the end. “We didn’t have to worry about a thing… we could simply enjoy our time together as a family.” said one wish mother.

Critical illnesses have taken much of these children's childhood away. This trip allowed them to rediscover joy and strength, and create memories with their loved ones they’ll carry forever. As wish child Maximos said: “I wouldn’t trade my wish for anything in the world.”

Shortly after his wish came true, Syauqi sadly passed away from acute myeloid leukemia. During his treatment journey, he showed remarkable courage and resilience. One wish continued to inspire him; to meet his soccer hero .

From the moment they met, Syauqi’s face lit up with happiness. He received signed jerseys, thoughtful gifts, autographs, and the opportunity to spend meaningful time with the player he has long admired.

4-year-old Moab's rare form of liver cancer meant him and his mother had to travel to the other side of Brazil for treatment, isolating them from their family during the hardest time of their lives. During treatment, Moab looked up to Police Officers as brave heros. So, when he was well enough, his wish was to become just like his heros. Make-A-Wish Brasil made that wish come true, and just look at the joy on Moab's face! 🥹

We know this wish will give Moab the bravery he needs in life after such a difficult time 💙

Joy is essential for children like Joshua who are living with a critical illness.

During his many hospital stays for leukemia treatment, five-year-old Joshua found comfort in learning about sea creatures. He spent hours watching documentaries and videos about marine life, and one creature captured his imagination more than any other; the whale shark. When he was well enough, his wish to see a whale shark came true. His parents shared that Joshua often speaks excitedly about the trip, grateful that he finally got to experience the dream he’d held onto throughout his treatment. 🦈💙

Hanna's story shows us just how vital wishes can be for a child's wellbeing. 14-year-old Hanna lives with severe aplastic anemia, causing symptoms such as unsteadiness when walking and hair loss. During treatment, Hanna spent a lot of time in isolation, which had difficult impact. She chose the perfect wish to regain a sense of normalcy; to go on a city trip with her family and best friend to Frankfurt. The trip included shopping, a makeover and dinner, finally giving Hanna the chance to have a 'normal' day as a teenager.

The room was filled with emotions when Nurdin's wish for a Birthday party came true. Nurdin lives with a rare and aggressive type of soft tissue cancer, and his life has been shaped by hospital visits from a young age.

Nurdin’s wish was not just about a birthday party. It was about being seen, valued and celebrated. It was a deeply emotional and life-changing moment, a powerful reminder that sometimes, the greatest gifts are love, joy and the chance to finally feel special.
