🌊 Ready to grow as a facilitator?

Applications are now open for Holding the Space – Building Confidence & Adaptability for Emerging Youth Workers, an Erasmus+ Training Course taking place in Ommen, the Netherlands 🇳🇱

📅 1–8 November 2026 (including travel days)
📍Olde Vechte, Ommen, The Netherlands

This international training is designed for emerging youth workers, facilitators, educators, trainers, volunteers, and youth leaders who want to gain more experience facilitating groups and build confidence in navigating the unexpected.

✨ During the training, you'll:
• Build facilitation confidence.
• Learn to adapt when things don't go according to plan.
• Explore creative methods through play, applied theatre, and experiential learning.
• Strengthen communication, self-awareness, and resilience.
• Connect with 30 participants from 10 European organisations.

🏡 Accommodation and meals are fully covered.
✈️ Travel costs are reimbursed according to Erasmus+ funding rules.

Earlier last month, we had the honor of taking part in IMMERSION LAB 2, an Erasmus+ training course hosted by in Ribes de Freser, Spain. 🎭

Throughout an intensive week of immersive theatre and participatory arts, participants explored interactive performance, sensory storytelling, movement, and site-specific creation.

From non-verbal invitations and host–guest dynamics to immersive scenes, collaborative choreography, and sensory experiences, the training challenged us to rethink how people engage with learning and performance.

We're grateful to for the inspiring programme and to .art for hosting us in such a beautiful creative space. We look forward to bringing these insights into Selkie's future workshops and educational experiences.

Selkie was proud to be a partner in the Erasmus+ training course Paint It Green, held in Taranto, Italy, from 25 April–3 May 2026. 🌿 .marte joined the training as a Dutch participant alongside youth workers, educators, and trainers from across Europe.

Throughout the week, participants explored creative approaches to sustainability education through visual facilitation, graphic storytelling, and non-formal learning methods. Together, they discovered how to make complex environmental topics more engaging, accessible, and impactful.🤩

Beyond the workshops, the experience created space for intercultural exchange, new connections, and shared inspiration. We're grateful to have been part of this project and look forward to applying these creative methods in our future work!

Our Climate4All final conference at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels is underway! 🌍💚

We were honoured to open the event with remarks from Ioannis Anastasakis, Vice Governor for Climate Change and Urban Mobility of the Region of Crete, and to welcome representatives from the European Commission, the Committee of the Regions, regional governments, partner organisations, educators, and climate leaders.

Our Feelings Deck is making its way across Europe 💛 Last week we had the chance to playtest it in Hungary by our partner Sulinyugi , exploring emotions, stories, and meaningful conversations together with local psychologists and facilitators! Grateful to everyone who shared their experiences and helped shape the next version of the deck.

On Sunday, we hosted Let's Talk, a workshop exploring communication, conflict, and listening through experiential activities and meaningful conversations. 💬

We began with a non-verbal active chair game that invited participants to explore different conflict styles, navigate disagreement, and discover what teamwork looks like when perspectives differ. Without words, participants experienced how we react, adapt, and collaborate in moments of tension.

The second part of the workshop focused on the three layers of listening through guided conversations in pairs. Participants were invited to share a personal challenge or struggle while their partners practiced different ways of listening, creating space for empathy, presence, and deeper connection.

Despite the summer heat, participants showed up with openness, curiosity, and courage. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such an honest and supportive atmosphere.

A special thank you to Stichting Portes Beheer and for providing the beautiful space that made this workshop possible.

This workshop was organized in collaboration with Synchro Foundation Synchro Foundation and .in.sanul.familiei as a dissemination activity of the Erasmus+ training course Train Alive Trainers, which took place in Romania. We are grateful to continue sharing the methods, experiences, and inspiration gained through this international learning journey. ✨

What happens when we truly listen?

Join us for a playful and interactive 90-minute workshop exploring communication, connection, and different ways of listening. Through experiential activities and guided reflection, we'll practice navigating tension, understanding different perspectives, and creating more meaningful conversations.

This workshop is inspired by methods we recently discovered during an Erasmus+ training course and are excited to share with our local community.

Can’t believe a month has already passed since the Climate for All team gathered at Knutepunkt 2026 🌍✨

Knutepunkt is the annual Nordic LARP conference, bringing together hundreds of designers, researchers, artists, and players from all around the world to explore the possibilities of immersive experiences and participatory storytelling. This year, around 550 participants came together for a week full of conversations, workshops, games, and inspiration.

Throughout the event, the Climate for All team contributed in several different ways:
🌱 Hosting Spirit Path, one of the eduLARPs from the Climate for All game collection
🌍 Facilitating a Climate & LARP panel discussion
✨ Presenting “Can LARPs Have Impact?” and showcasing the Climate for All project and its' impact

Beyond the workshops and presentations, we also got to celebrate, party, reconnect, and create new memories together — one of the most beautiful parts of gatherings like this 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who joined and supported our sessions! It was meaningful to explore together how games and LARPs can create space for dialogue, empathy, and climate engagement. 🙏We’re also deeply grateful to the Erasmus+ programme for making it possible for us to carry out this meaningful work and bring these experiences to communities across Europe.

🤩 One especially precious moment for us: all the designers behind the Climate for All games were present in the room together. Seeing the full team gathered, reflecting on the journey so far and imagining what comes next, felt truly special.

Now, we’re looking ahead to the big closing event of this three-year Cooperation Partnership project: the final Climate for All dissemination conference in Brussels at the European Committee of the Regions. We’re excited to celebrate everything the project has achieved and continue sharing its learnings with new audiences across Europe.

A throwback to the beautiful few days at the EduGame Artefact Expo hosted by Shokkin Group 🎲✨

The expo brought together an inspiring mix of game designers, educators, youth workers, NGOs, facilitators, and creative practitioners from across Europe — all exploring how games and playful methodologies can create meaningful learning experiences.

Throughout the event we joined fishbowl discussions, tool markets, playtests, and conversations about the future of educational games and interactive learning. It was exciting to see such a wide diversity of approaches: from analog games and LARPs to facilitation tools, reflection exercises, and experimental prototypes.

I also had the opportunity to share some of Selkie’s projects, including the playtests of Our Feelings Deck, and InTension. One of the most valuable parts of the expo was not only testing ideas, but discussing how these kinds of tools could be adapted for youth work contexts and potentially evolve into future collaborations and Erasmus+ projects.

What stood out most was the openness of the group: people genuinely curious about each other’s practices, willing to experiment, and eager to exchange ideas across disciplines and cultures. These kinds of spaces remind me how powerful play can be — not only as entertainment, but as a way to build connection, reflection, empathy, and dialogue.
